Pictures vs. Content,
By K E BORG (El Paso, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mustang 1964-1/2-1973 (Hardcover)
Since there are so many books covering this subject, it's probably difficult to truly stand out while re-telling this familiar story. Given that, the author must resort to including some fine photographs - which he does amply - to make this book unique. While nothing new or extraordianry for well-read enthusiasts, it's a great first purchase for someone new to the subject. For a much more substantial book by the same author, see "Motor City Muscle."

One of 2 the best books on first generation Mustang's.,

This review is from: Mustang 1964-1/2-1973 (Hardcover)
There are a lot of books covering each year model Mustang but very few books that cater specifically for 1964-1/2 to 1973 Mustang's.(commonly refered to as the first generation Mustang's).This is one of 2 books, and this one is the best. This is a good history of these Mustang's with plenty of information as well as many beautiful photographs throughout. This book will impress.
This book is a work of art.Its well researched and it shows. Its definitely not a coffee table book.It is a comprehensive book on these first generation Mustang's.It deserves a place in your Mustang book collection.I was too busy enjoying this book so I didnt bother trying to find any faults.I hope the author will consider further books like this one on the other generations of Mustang's. This is the other book I recommend on these first generation Mustang's: "Ford Mustang:1964 and 1/2 to 1973" By Pat Covert.A Musclecar Tech book.(ISBN:1-58007-079-5).Its also available here at Amazon.com.

Had a lot on the history of the Mach 1, many details that are harder to find, which is what I was looking for, in addition to a great overall history of the Mustang. Lots of great photos of all the various models during this time period.

Best book on Mustangs, period.,

This review is from: Mustang 1964-1/2-1973 (Hardcover)
This is by far the most informative book available on the classic Mustang. Very informative, great photos and a fun read. I thought I knew most everything there was to know about the pony car, but this book increased that knowledge two-fold. When considering Mustang literature, this is the only book you'll need or want.

Finally, a New Take on the 1st Generation!,
This review is from: Mustang 1964-1/2-1973 (Hardcover)
Wow, finally a new take on the first generation Mustangs. The history is really insightful without boring the readers with all the numbers and details that we have all "heard it before", or who really cares who much bigger the ports are on the 351C-4V vs. the 351C-2V.
The pictures of all the restored Mustangs are also wonderful and refreshing. Nice take on some of the often not seen models such as the "Mexican Shelby" or just your basic 1972 Coupe. New pictures of car and color combinations and not the "overused" Ford/ Mustang photos that we all have seen in so many publications. The text is also well written by Mike Mueller. Like I said earlier, easy to read without all the technical clutter we see in so many other "Mustang" books. The transitioning and the model introductions are smooth with all the relavances tied in. I also thought that it was so well written that any non-automobile enthusist would be able to pick it up and read it without ever having to ask, "What is a 10:1 ratio?" All in all, a great book for all Mustang enthusists and might even create a few new ones along the way.

Awesome Book,
This review is from: Mustang 1964-1/2-1973 (Hardcover)
Out of all my mustang books in my collection (Approximately 13 or so), this is probably the best book I have. It goes into the history of the car so much better than any of my other books. Totally impressed with the research and knowledge this book provides.

One of the best Mustangs book out there. Your friends will try to steal it from you if you leave it out in the open! While technical info can be a little better, the pictures in this book is top notch and makes up for it. You can literally read the book till the end, and then start over and still droll over the pics. I found the techincal data to be 100% correct. These guys know what they're doing.
