I bought this mount as well as one of the Peerless mounts for my 42" Panasonic plasmas. I think the Peerless is a better overall mount than this one only because it allows for horizontal adjustment and was cheapier. It also had better instructions and better quality assembly hardware. However, for my one installation I actually preferred the Mustang mount because it doesn't require the TV to be slightly tilted while mounting (The Peerless requires you to slightly tilt the bottom of the TV out while mounting). For space reasons I needed a mount that required no tilting of the TV while mounting. The Mustang worked out great for this. I also like the security lock feature. But if you're looking for a standard no frills wall mount with no installation limitations than I'd say you're better off saving the $20+ and going with one of the standard Peerless ones, but both are a quality product.

The vertical mounts do not adjust horizontally so you will have to attach it to your wall using hollow-wall anchor bolts at the full 30-32" width. If you are mounting on sheet rock you probably should go with a unit that has horizontal slots so you can align with your existing studs. I mounted on a hollow wood-paneled wall using 5/8" anchors and it is very strong thus I give it four stars based on its high construction quality, ease of hanging, and the fact that you can slide the TV left or right across the bars to center it. Also be forwarned that the built-in levels are way off so be sure to use a separate level. Overall this is an outstanding buy at $80.

The good news: This LCD/plasma mount is truly universal, in that it's hard to imagine a TV for which hardware is not included. Wow, lots of screw & spacers.... It seems very sturdy. I did a series of chin-ups on it prior to hanging my 40" Samsung on it.
The bad news: If you are mounting to dry wall, the spacing of your studs might be a concern, as the wall-mounting plates do not seem to be adjustable. Luckily, my studs are spaced in such a way that this mount was perfect for my living room. Also, the bubble levels are mounted crookedly, so do not rely upon them for attaining a level mount. It's easy enough to lay a level on one of the bars while making final adjustments before drilling your second hole.

I did a little research and bought this mount based on price. It was $75 where others were running for $250. After installing and using it, I would have bought this mount if it were three times the price. It's solid, easy to install, has good instructions in real, genuine English, and comes with copious amounts of separately-bagged hardware for just about every plasma screen and every installation circumstance. (Stud installation or concrete, flat TV case or curved, four standard gauges of mounting bolts, etc.) It comes with two built-in spirit levels to help you get it positioned properly. It's low profile (about 1.5" from the wall to the back of the tv case), and allows you to padlock the screen to the mounting rails.
I have a Panasonic TH-42px60u, and it fit like a charm. The mounting holes in the wall bracket are really horizontal slots measuring about 2" wide, so it gives you a bit of lee-way if your studs aren't exactly 16" apart. There are two brackets for the screen that fit on either side of your plasma case, with two hooks on each one that sit on the two rails of the wall mount. Pretty simple - install wall mount, install case brackets, hang screen, done. Unless you've got a really weird wall, or for some reason your screen doesn't conform to standard specs for mounting hardware, it's virtually impossible to not set this thing up properly. A couple caveats: First: This is a flush mount. No pivoting, tilting, or moving around, so make sure that's what you're looking for. Also, if you're looking for the manufacturer's Website, it's [...]. (It didn't show up in the search engines, so I tried guessing the URL at one point, and ended up at, shall we say, a "non G-rated" site. All in all, this is a great product - and the price is right.

Big dissapointment! I should have read the reviews more carefully.. I bought this unit because it was recommended as accessory to the Sansumg 42" LCD I was purchasing from Amazon....It turns out this is a very limited mount if you plan to fix it to a dry wall. You cannot slide the bars horizontally and the center of the openings are 31" apart with a little leeway both sides... If the studs are 24" apart, like mine, forget it. What a bummer....Amazon should place a caveat next to its recommendation as accesory.

good product but the levels on the product cannot be utilized as they are not dependable. That said, I would still purchase the product again and think the price is good.

I bought this mount for my 42". Well built and strudy....once bolted to the wall, I had no reservations about doing chin-ups from one of the cross bars. I weigh 185lbs. In a nut shell, a solid, no nonsense flat panel mount. I also bought one for my 32". Would purchase again if I need another.

Works well,
This review is from: Mustang MV-STAT3 Flat Panel for 37-Inch to 50-Inch TV, Silver (Electronics)
The bracket sticks out three inches from the wall. the TV is 3-4 inches in depth so over all it sticks out 6-7 inches from the wall. This is a well built sturdy bracket which mounts easily. I would recommend it to others with a larger plasma TV. The price was outstounding and probably unbeatable. I am happy with the purchass allthough something that swung out to pivot the TV from right to left would have been nice. Again this bracket worked out well for me.

Great deal, compared with the ones available at Circuit City or Best Buy. Only thing I wished was that it had a way to fine tune the level after the TV was installed.

Good product- easy to assemble- even though my husband
had to move the ends to sit on the studs in our wall-but he was able to adjust and it is fine. |
