Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Spent a solid two weeks making comparisons between the Mustang and Arctic Armor brands. This entailed reading every review I could find online, calling across the country and talking with dealers who sold them both for their feedback, and even had the chance to talk with a few people who owned both brands. Bottom line . . . I chose and bought the Mustang and am glad I did as the quality and workmanship is first class. It's made extremely well; the seams are straight, strong and sealed. Most important to me though, is that it's made here in America, not Thailand. Then there's the fact that it is Coast Guard approved as a Type III flotation device. And finally, there seems to be a question as to whether or not it will provide protection against hypothermia. Well, this is my take on the matter. Here's a company that doesn't have any qualms about stating in their website ads that it will provide protection against hypothermia. Given that they have been making this kind of equipment since 1967, I personally don't believe they would take a risk of false advertising. So, I personally don't have a problem with paying top dollar for great gear that I can trust. In fact, so much so, that I now own the matching Mustang Integrity HX Bib Pants (MP4225), the MV3224 Integrity Flotation Vest for those days on the water where it's too warm for the heavy duty coat, and the Mustang MD3183 Deluxe Auto Inflatable PFD with the Hydrostatic Inflator Technology just to be on the safe side when the weather is hot and there's chance of something freakish happening on the water. I went with the HIT feature because it's guaranteed not to discharge when I'm out on a rainy day or get soaked while I'm running in heavy wave waters.
