5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest band no one's ever heard
The Bissonette brothers have been plugging away for years with so many different respectable names in the biz, their own bands (Mustard Seeds, Spot, Jughead, the Squirts) have gotten little attention from the media. If you like King's X, the Beatles, Metallica, or Galactic Cowboys you'll love these guys. Even though they resemble the above, they have a distinct sound...

3.0 out of 5 stars I knew them when....
I remember going to see the Seeds at Pelican's and Montana's. Both of those places are gone now but as I knew then, the guys wouldn't be. The stage show was always fantastic and the music superb. I even had them autograph a check for me because I knew they'd be famous!!

This CD is fantastic - Quicksand is my favorite - I've loved every song from the beginning. Way to...

Even though they resemble the above, they have a distinct sound (musically/vocally) that is very much their own. I can listen to both of the Seeds albums over and over without getting tired of them. Some of the best songwriting I've heard next to the Beatles (no kidding!). Get it! Get it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Band, Great Album, January 23, 2002

I remember seeing these guys regularly at Pelican's retreat. There's a definite Beatles and "Grung" quality to their music, but they definitely have their own sound. The best part was, they knew how to write a good song! Awsome three way harmonies and dual guitars. This album doesn't do justice to their live sound and their stage presence. My favorties are "Mr. Green", "Mother May I", "Last Man on Earth" and "Bulldozer". I regret that they never released the song "17" which had a kick [butt], unique opening riff. Oh, well.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!, August 17, 1999
By A Customer

Fantastic debut album by a band who should be getting a lot more attention, and air play. Why does it seem that nobody else has heard of this band? The music and lyrics are both top notch! The group reminds me a lot of King's X (who also haven't received the credit they deserve). Two words .... GET IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is bold, new, and incredibly ferocious., July 11, 1999

After seeing the seeds open for Satriani, I was amazed at the magnatude of sound they produced, and of its quality. The music is the kind that breaks car windows. Its raw, yet orchastrated. Its an incredible collection of music that will stay in my top 10 for along time.

Need I say more? If you like the styles of King's X, Rush, Dream Theater, etc, then you MUST buy this album. Don't even think about it, just do it. I can listen to every one of the Mustard Seeds' songs over and over. This album definitely ranks as one of my all time favorites!

This album, along with the follow-up 'Red,' have to be considered classics--even though hardly anyone has ever heard of them! If you're reading this, you should buy both CDs immediately if not sooner! (Then go on iT*nes and download 'III'.) They're both among the best rock CDs to be released in the past 20 years--yes, they're that good. My copy of this CD has disappeared, and it's desert island time--it must be replaced. Do yourself a big favor and get into the mighty Mustard Seeds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, December 24, 2010
This review is from: Mustard Seeds (Audio CD)
One of my 20 favorite albums of all time. This song has amazing musicianship, amazing songs, amazing lyrics, and amazing vocals. It's unfortunate these guys have only 3 albums to their credit. This one is truly their best.

I don't know how I missed these guys. I recently re-purchased an Atomic Opera cd and happend to discover The Mustards Seeds on the cd insert. Luckily, I was able to secure a copy of both the s/t release and Red.

My review: Instantly this cd opens with the catchy song Mr. Green which is harmonously in the likes of King's X. The cd has great guitar riffs and great vocals. Upon the second listen of the cd in its entirety, I was hooked.

Any Ty Tabor, King's X, Galactic Cowboys, or Atomic Opera fans are invited to check out this cd from The Mustard Seeds.
