The scanner, itself, works fine. However, the reason I purchased it was because it advertised that all you had to do was select the format and save the scan.

That's wasn't true. The scanner came with Abbyy 2.0 reader. When it would scan only to a Tiff or pdf file, and NOT to Word or Exel, I called the company.

I was told I needed Abbyy 7 reader or better in order to scan to Word or Excel.

That's not what the advertisement stated, nor what it says on the box.

If it states that it will scan to Word, then they should include all that is necessary for it to do that.

But, as a scanner.... if you want pdf or picture files, it works well.

I needed a document scanner. This wasn't it.

I bought this scanner to digitize my photos, but to my horror, this scanner DON'T do photos! or most of them to be accurate. Most of my photo are glossy surface, and this scanner won't pull these photos through. It always got jammed either right from the start or while the photo is passing through. Often you will see the photo stopped moving and hear the motors "click click click" noise. If the photo is matted surfaced, probably 80% of them will go through alright. But I still got many bad scans, either the image is badly cropped, or skewed. I tried some documents, no problem. Sometime the scanner just stopped working, no light, no nothing. Overall I'm rally dis pointed with this scanner. I returned it since it does not serve my purpose.
