Our baby girl has a rash-less bottom most of the time, but when she is teething her poor little tush flames up fire red and is so uncomfortable she squirms -- until we found Mustela Bebe Vitamin Barrier.

It cured her diaper rash overnight. Now we put this cream on with every diaper change, when she teething, and her tushy stays totally clear of that horrible, bright red rash. When she is not teething we use Lansinoh brand baby wipes and she is rash free. These two products in combination have worked for months now.

It is pricier than most diaper creams, but I only needed a pea-size amount to smooth over her whole bottom. It has a much silkier consistency, less like paste and more like thick lotion, so it is easier to rub in. It felt like it was sinking into the skin and not just laying on top of it.

My baby did not squirm or cry while I applied this, other creams had irritated her already raw skin; she calmed down when this cream went on.

I love the scent too; when was the last time that something associated with your baby's bottom was actually pleasant to smell?

This product is very watery, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It squeezes out and gets all over the place when you are just trying to get a little bit and sometimes the water and cream seperate inside the product so I have to shake the tube a bit before I use it or else i get a bunch of water coming out. This is pretty annoying but the fact that it works so well makes up for it. Gets rid of baby's rash within hours! Other stuff I've tried would take days.

I have to start with the fact that I had high hopes for this diaper cream. Mustela is a well-known and well-respected brand. This product was gifted to me when my #2 was born. When I first looked at the packaging, I was taken aback by the amount of unpronounceable ingredients - but the Environmental Working Group rated it low-medium toxicity, so I went ahead and used it on my baby the few times he needed it. The smell is stronger than I would like, which should have clued me in to an excess of unneeded chemicals (i.e. fragrance). He screamed and screamed each time I used it, but I thought it was just the diaper rash. Then I used it on my 3 yo (who is potty trained, but had a rash). She immediately started shrieking and crying saying that "it stings!!!" and "please get it off mommy!" between sobs. After wiping it off her, I immediately threw it in the trash and commenced feeling terribly guilty about the times I used it on my baby and he cried so hard. A terrible product - made me feel like I was hurting my children by using it. Mustela needs to take it off the market, remove the fragrance and chemicals, and bring it back in the spirit that it was advertised - safe and comfortable for baby.

I bought this diaper cream on my local boutique shop in the mall that sells high-end baby products. The sales woman recommend this Mustela Bebe Vitamin Barrier Cream along with the couple others to me because I told her I am using cloth diapers, obviously they all very safe to use when cloth diapering. I choose Mustela over the other brands because it's the only one that has scent -- I am glad it has a nice scent because I am tire to smell all the awful odors from so called "free and clear" baby care products on the market, I preferred to have scent on all my body care and cleaning products.

My newborn son had a serious diaper rash after I BF him a day after I had some spicy Korean instant noodle!!! His bum had this very red, swollen rash that looks like big blister and it must be painful for him! That was the first time I ever opened the tube -- I didn't know the cream consistency was liquidly, so I had pour out too much at the first time. I learned you only need a tiny drop to be able to cover the whole baby bottom! It feels watery when you first apply to the skin, then when you thin it through out the skin, you can see the cream actually pasty, it absorbs right into the skin and it forms a thin powdery layer on the skin, and it does not stain the cloth diaper at all. The rash took 4 days to heal, after that I just apply the cream on every diaper change. He never had another diaper rash after that! The cream actually smells so good, it make him smell so clean and fresh after every diaper change. A little pricy but I can see this a little tube can lasts for a long time. Very happy with this cream.

i hate to use products with unnecessary chemicals, parabens, etc. for myself and my baby, so i really wanted to like this product. it worked fine for us in the winter and spring, but as soon as it got hot and humid outside, i found it just didn't do the job anymore. my daughter gets changed frequently -- she doesn't sit around in a damp diaper -- but i just couldn't get rid of her diaper rashes with this. i think the main issue is that this isn't as thick as desitin and other old standards -- so it doesn't stay in place as well or form as thick of a protective barrier. i didn't see the relief over several days with this product that others can deliver in 1. if you go with the mustela, i suggest making sure your baby is as dry as possible (even toweled off) before applying it.
