[bad] DVD, but great ...movie!, June 12, 2003
By A Customer
This has to be the worst looking DVD I have in my collection. The video quality is incredibly subpar, with really toned down colors and inexistent blacks. Yeah, the movie is presented in widescreen, but it's not anamorphic. I would bet my life that this DVD was mastered from a VHS tape. I swear I saw tracking issues at the start of the movie. And the subtitles are non-removable (and just as blurry as the video itself), ...P>As for the movie, what can I say, It's great. It is better documented elsewhere and if you are browsing this item, it means you know what you are looking for. My advice: get a multiregion DVD PAL-capable player and import the upcoming Region 2 release which is being supervised by Alex de la Iglesia himself. Should be great Oh, and this is not a Mexican movie, it's Spanish.

Spanish Troma movie, May 21, 2007
Accion Mutante (Mutant Action, if you need the translation) is a sci-fi, action, comedy, gross-out, political commentary film set in some kind of future where good looking people who love working out and eating healthy have taken over the world and public policy.
Meanwhile, a terroristic group known as Accion Mutante has formed to attack this system. When their boss finishes his five year prison sentence and heads back to their base camp, they make a plan to kidnap a wealthy businessman's daughter at her wedding and demand a ransom of 100,000,000 ecus... whatever kind of money that is.
Unfortunately for them, as they are escpaing in their spaceship, their team begins to fall apart when it is discovered that one of them is a traitor. When they crash land on a planet with no women, the two remaining crew members seek to save the girl and get the money... and maybe not in that order.
The quality of the film is surprisingly bad. But even more surprising is the fact that it's still extremely watchable. It's clearly not the most enlightening film ever, or really the most anything. It's got a good amount of slapstick schlocky gross out gags and oddly misformed characters that production companies like Troma are famous for.
The political commentary is light, but it seems to be heading in the direction of people should be able to do and feel what they want and not be ostracised for being crippled... but anything intelligent really gets lost in the blood and guts explosions taking place.
If you've liked anything Troma-related, you'll like this... as long as you don't mind reading subtitles with your mindless gore.

Fiesta Infernale, June 3, 2003
This is definitely one of the craziest movies i've ever seen. A wild Mixture of Action and Splatterscenes, combined with crazy Humor, funny dialogues and very strange Actors. The Plot is told with a few sentences: Women gets kidnapped by a group of crippled Terrorists, known as "Accion Mutante". On the way to the planet Axturias, the group gets decimated by their own leader. Finally all the survivors meet again - the final clash marks the curious culmination of a curious film. In my Opinion, Alex de la Iglesia has done a very good job - it's an excellent film, a macabre Masterpiece beside the Mainstream. Surprisingly, the Picture quality is amazingly bad, that's why it get's only 4 Stars. Nevertheless a "must seen" .
