This was the first graphic novel that I'd read in awhile. I must say the illustrations are really cool and well done and the book was an enjoyable and entertaining read! I give Mute-Elation five stars and cant wait to see the next book from the author.

Format: Paperback
Mark Wayne Harris and Dennis Francis return to a character and a line of story telling they attempted in the late 1980's. No tights, capes or super powers; just a character suicidally committed to fighting back against the forces of evil. Willing to take the big beat down if it will slow down crime. Willing to even lose the fight just to say they tried to fight back the right way. Nathan Blackhorse returns at a time when the kids of the 1980's are all grown up and know that no one in a cape is going to save them and their kids. It's up to us; not acting as vigilantes, but as volunteers, not taking the law into our own hands but acting to uphold and enforce a law abiding society. In a lot of ways the character of Nathan Blackhorse reminds me of Superman's commitment to not kill (in spite of the fact that he {Superman} has almost the powers of a god). In the 80's we were introduced to heroes who killed: primarily lead by the character Wolverine of the X-Men. The youth of the 80's ate it up and to this day Wolverine still embodies this vigilante ethos and commands a high level of popularity. So yes...more Street Wolf .
