Do not be fooled,
By mom of three (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
I not one to write a review, but this was so bad, I had to.
I purchased this as an upgrade using my HP discounted price (I had the trial version on my HP laptop when I bought it). I read the reviews but didn't listen. I spent many late evenings and many hours attempting to make a DVD of family pictures, video, and music only to have the program "freeze." After many headaches and heartaches, I learned if I didn't save my work in progress every few minutes, I lost everything as it "froze" my entire laptop. I repeatedly had to restart my laptop. After a few days of finally finishing the movie, I attempted to save the movie in HD format as the products claims...only for it to "freeze" again. I also went out a purchased a stack of blank DVD disks and holders in an effort to make DVD movies. However, this also would "freeze." After another three days of trying and the program failing to make the DVD it promised, I attempted another product option and save the movie to my I-Tunes library. This was a last effort. This too failed. During this entire time I sent approximately 5 emails requesting help and my problems to their customer service and by the last email, I requested a refund. They responded and took away my online access. I will be checking and making sure my credit card has been refunded. I do not wish this frustration on anyone and hope you rethink this purchase. Good luck!

Outstanding! Muvee Reveal 8,
By Tom S "Tom S" (GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
This review is for Muvee Reveal version 8. (Product shown here is Muvee Reveal.) Buy Version 8.
I just read some of these reviews and felt I had to put in my experience. I just received Muvee Reveal version 8 software as a gift and I am amazed. I wanted to make a slide show of scanned photos for a Christmas party. Muvee Reveal v. 8 to the rescue! Step 1: Load images. Simple enough. (You can load video but am only reviewing usage of program for .jpg images.) Step 2: Choose a style for your presentation. Several to choose--from laid back to uptempo. I chose standard disolve for the transitions. You can preview each picture and further enhance the color, direction of panning, (go in, go out, side to side, slow or fast...or just set the ) set length of time on each picture (up to 10 seconds), add captions if desired, and more. Step 3: Add music of choosing. You can also set the start and end points of each song. Crossfading is available too if you want continuous mix of music or have each track end and next one start like a c.d. You can further personalize the overall presentation. I added a picture to the front page of the dvd once inserted and added a title and border. Muvee Reveal will sync to the music beats if desired, and display images to length of music added which makes it simple to have your last picture fade to black on the last note of the song. (I would like to see the ability to have Muvee Reveal let us select the "auto end"--in the "personalize section" and change some of the display times of certain pictures and still have Muvee adjust for the difference and still end on the last note.) You can adjust the energy and pace of each production as well. Further enhancements to color and saturation may also be made. You may also select the program to repeat music if images run out or fade music out when last image is revealed. You may also force the program to a certain "duration" if you'd like. The finished production was so outstanding I can't wait to show my work to family at Christmas. (A perfect gift I might add!) I was so excited that I made another disc of images from a Christmas party over the weekend. Added few up-tempo Christmas songs and Muvee Reveal did the rest. I chose "Kinetic" style which flips images, cuts them, disolves, moves side to side, twists, mirrors and more. This style also added flashes of subtle light to highlight portions of the pictures. It was perfect! The finsihed production was so entertaining we watched it four times! Glitches: Like any software, you may experience a "freeze" of the program. Muvee Reveal has a Recover feature that allows you to fully recapture all data input when you relaunch the program. That feature was a lifsaver as I had to restart the program twice. Suggestions: Would enjoy being able to choose my own color from a palate for font...even textured fonts and add images to fonts. You can upload directly to Facebook, Youtube and others. I suggest to simply SAVE the project to your hard drive in the highest quality format (.avi) and then upload to youtube yourself. My experience with direct loading was in .mp4 quality and it was not suitable for my quality production. Burn directly to DVD and hand to your friends to play in their home dvd players. Computer requirements: You'll need to have enough ram and power to allow the program to work best for you. People having problems may not have adequate system resources. Want to make a beautiful high definition photo/video mash up before your kid graduates from college? Yes! Want to make friends, family movies that your significant other won't hide from? Yes! Want people to know those great YouTube/Facebook videos are yours? Yes! The new muvee Reveal 8 -- in my opinion is currently THE best 3-click, Windows-based HD video production software PERIOD!

horrible product,
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
It wouldn't be half bad if it'd actually burn a dvd like it's supposed to. I spent HOURS making a movie as a gift only to have the thing freeze every single time I went to burn it onto a dvd. What a waste. I wouldn't wish this software on my enemy.

One of the easiest photo creations available,
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
Having purchased Mauvee Reveal version 8 only a few days ago, I was so suprised to learn how simple using this software really was. In a matter of 15 minutes from opening the software box, I had created a slideshow that I uploaded to the web. It can't get much easier than that! There are a lot of different style settings and adding the music was a snap. I would recommend this software to the beginner or the person who just wants to have fun with their photos without a huge learning time.

Don't Buy It,
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
I absolutely love Muvee Auto Producer 6 and have made great movies with it so when Muvee Reveal came out I decided to upgrade expecting an awesome program. It cost me well over $80. I had to add more memory to my computer because you need a minimum of 2 gig. I finally got my program added to my computer and found it very disappointing to say the least. Muvee Reveal is no better than any plain slide show. If I could send it back and get a refund I would. The add ons are no better so there is no way I am buying any more packages the program calls for. Very little action to this program. Mostly it is background color changing. Very boring.
If you want a good program then get Muvee Autoproducer 6 but also be prepared for the program to dollar you to death. Autoproducer 6 is the program I will continue to use.

Crashes all the Time,

Muvee Reveal, unlike the more basic version which comes installed on Hewlett-Packard computers, crashes all the time. You will keep getting message, "Muvee Reveal Not Responding."
Here is the type of "help" tech support from Muvee offers. Look at what they want to just to help you troubleshoot. Unless you work in the field of IT, it's really too much: Greetings Thank you for contacting muvee technical support team. I understand that you are having problems using our software. I can imagine how inconvenient this must have been for you. To help you with your issue, kindly provide us the following information: 1) On what stage did the crash occurred: Is it when loading your media files? During preview? Saving or Burning? 2) May I know the extension file name of the videos/music/photos that you are trying to load? 3) Number of videos/music/photos? 4) May I know if you are using music files which are purchased from an online store, like iTunes? Most of the online purchased music files are DRM-protected. Currently, muvee programs only work with music files which are not DRM-protected.(Digital Rights Management) 5) Can you follow the steps below and let me know the results: a) Launch muvee muvee Reveal b) Make a new muvee this time using only muvee sample media files located at "C:\Program Files\muvee Technologies\muvee Reveal\Samples" c) Press " Make muvee" button" d) Save it into any format 6) Can you please run dxdiag on your system, save it and send me the DxDiag.txt file. To run dxdiag, click Start -> Click Run -> type 'dxdiag' -> then click 'Save all Information' and save it to your Desktop. 7) Can you please take a snapshot whenever the application crashes or freezes. (http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Microsoft-Windows) We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience. Warm Regards, muvee Technical Support

Buggy software,
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
Muvee came as a trial version on my HP Laptop. The program repeatedly crashed so I was never able to produce anything with it -- even the simplest slide show. By comparison Ulead Movie Factory works l like a charm and even the Windows DVD maker that comes with Windows 7 works extremely well. Don't waste your time or money.

Simple intuitive program,
By Califirnia Fred "California Fred" (Califirnia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Muvee Reveal Home Movies and Slideshow Win CD DVD Case (CD-ROM)
After a half hour learning curve I found this program to be quite intuitive and an easy and quick way to present and record my video clips into a useable, shareable product. The heavy duty video creation suites are just too hard to use for an amateur like myself. There are a reasonble number of presentation "scripts" available to make a quick final product of home video clips into a DVD or YouTube or what have you product. Easy approaches to matching music to the video as well as voice over and titles are features of this product. Still as well as video clips can be presented in many fun end products.
Only thing I would have liked to see that is missing is the cleanup features of "vReveal", which I think is made by the same company, that would have allowed photoshop type corrections in under photographed clips as well as removing camera shake. You don't have to be skilled to use Muvee Reveal. It turns out to be fun not a chore.

I've been using an older version of Muvee for creating photo slideshows for a couple of years. Reveal is a great imrovement and I can create professional looking slideshows in no time. I've had no issues runnning in VISTA. Unfortunately I only use Reveal for photo slideshows and can't comment on the video interface, but for slideshows I can't imagine anything being easier to use..
