About the Author

Crystal Bowman is the author of several children's books, including Cracks in the Sidewalk, and as a lyricist for FJM Music Company she's published more than one hundred lyrics in children's piano books. She is a speaker with MOPS International and has three "almost grown" children. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Claudine Gévry is a children's book illustrator with Candlewick Press, Harcourt, Scholastic, Time Life Books, Publications International, and Weekly Reader. She has illustrated and directed the art of an animated film for the National Film Board of Canada and is a graduate in visual arts from the University of Quebec. Claudine lives in Montreal, Quebec.

Crystal Bowman is a best selling author of more than 60 books for kids as well as 3 books for women. She also writes magazine articles and lyrics for children's piano music. She wrote her first poem when she was in the 4th grade. Her teacher told her she would be a poet someday. Her first book of poetry, CRACKS IN THE SIDEWALK, was published in 1993. It has been republished several times and is still in print. She also speaks at schools, churches, and writers' conferences.
