The list author says: "We check out tons of books from the library and needed to own these. We always get the board book versions, in the larger format when available. He also likes flipping through pretty much any "first words" or "cars and trucks" or "animals" book."
"We love this book! A baby wakes his father up repeatedly and they watch urban night scenes out their apartment window. Beautifully detailed illustrations. Slightly odd dreamy sing-songy prose with lots of slant rhymes. Great for big city dads. Makes me homesick for NYC. We used to read this at bedtime every night until I decided this insomniac baby was not setting a good example."
"My son never tires of this book for some reason. Not great if you are trying to get your kid to stop answering "no" to every question. We also have "What's Up, Duck?" but this one has more of a plot and he likes it better."
"Besides being a book about Daddy and his cool accessories, one of my son's favorite topics, the keys and cars and other favorite objects in the background are metallic foil and my son loves to point them out."
