Book Description

My 1st Million At 33 - YES, you can do it too! (Part I) is the book for the 99% of us, the common people, who don't pull over $250K a year, but still wishing to become financially independent. It's the hard truth that no personal financial gurus who want to sell you a training course or their books would reveal to you. The book is written by a real frugal millionaire, who is not on any agenda, but simply wants to present you the road that is less traveled.

Here is how the 1st Million was made, starting with some $50K household income:
40% from relentless saving -- maxing out 401K limit at $17K x 2 incomes for 10 years would be $340K per year already
15% from investing -- a compounding rate of 6.5% for 10 years would do.
25% from owning real estate -- due to USA real estate bubble
20% from stock options -- trading a lower salary for higher stock option gain

While your gain from real estate & stock options may be less, a significant amount of wealth is still within your reach, and given a bit more time, you can exceed the million dollar threshold.

Frugal Millionaire welcomes everyone of you to the club of millionaires, and has no doubts that anybody who begins early can achieve such, if not greater.

5.0 out of 5 stars practical and inspiring personal finance guide March 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There has been tons of personal finance books but this one is really resourceful and doable. I like the author talking about how to reach finance freedom in a sincere and down to earth way, just like your trusted neighbor recommending a reliable handyman. The author explained his philosophy, methodology, his own experience and considered for readers from all classes (well, maybe excluding the top 1%).

I will definitely refer to this book again and again to refresh my memory and for real life decision making.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written and succinct September 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Been a reader of the blog for a few years now. The book deals with the important requirements and provides a route(mechanics) to achieve financial success. It is succinct and an useful read when you want some motivation, direction and advice. The first part deals with the author's personal life, job and other experiences. The latter deals with how to invest to invest money. Most of the chapters are good, some are gold, the others are a miss. Buy the dead tree version if you can.
