These books are perfect for the beginning of the year in a kindergarten classroom. You get one book for each letter. All of the pictures in that book begin with the specific letter you are learning. The books say the same thing on each page, only varying the word for the picture. For example, one book might say, "The astronaut. The apple. The acorn." Another will say, "Look at the fish. Look at the fan...." New sight words are added each book. This is a great way to review/introduce letters while also learning sight words, one to one word correspondance, reading left to right, punctuation, etc. I like these books because they are cheap and easy to use. All you have to do is tear the pages out and off you go. I would recommend them for any kindergarten or emergent readers as an easy way to get books at their level into their hands.

Not all letters use the correct sound. For example, the letter "e" uses the word "eye" on every page. But I bought 9 books for my preschoolers and they have a collection of books they can read by the end of the year...one for each letter.

These little books are great tools for pre-readers. There is one book for each letter of the alphabet. I have the students circle the matching letters on each page (all the a's in the A book for example) and they find pictures and stickers of objects that begin with the letter we are working on, to stick on the pages as well.
