I am fascinated by both her references to her writings and to life in those days. Every letter is interesting. And it makes me want to read every book of her that she talks about.

4.0 out of 5 stars A joy to discover Willa Cather July 2, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed all the varying works. I would rate My Antonia as the best of the novels and would rate Death Comes to the Archbishop [not included] as her masterpiece. But who am I to judge such good writing?. Maybe if my knowledge of music was better the Song of the Lark may have come out as the winner.
It was refreshing to find a writer with such powers of description regarding most topics ranging from the human emotions to nature.

The writing is so crisp and the syntax appealing to some one of my age who was taught english grammar at school.

I think some of the modern writers would benefit from some tuition in this aspect of writing.

I am sure that I will reread her stories which is something I rarely do.

The problem is that the individual novels are not indexed or separate. Makes it almost impossible to find the title you want to read.
