4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 80's Sounding CD From Autograph Singer, April 20, 2007
This review is from: My Attitude (Audio CD)
When I think of 80s hard rock/metal a few bands automatically come to mind and make me smile, one is Y&T and the other is Autograph, there was just a really special sound that these bands had. The music had an edge and yet you could almost see the smile and gleam in the eyes of these bands, they were having fun! It wasn't all serious doom and gloom
these guys knew how to have fun, party, and sing darn good music and it showed!

All this leads me to my review of Steve Plunkett's debut solo album 'My Attitude'I think this CD proves that Autograph had a few more great albums in them before they vanished from the scene. It also shows that Steve was one heck of a great songwriter.
These songs have such a great vibe, especially the opening track 'Heavy Pettin' and the 2nd song 'Louie Louie'
it sounds very similar to the first Autograph album 'sign in please' and a bit like the 'Missing Pieces' album from Autograph
not really any giant leaps forward but honestly any drastic change would have ruined this...
The biggest surprise for me was finding one of my favorite songs on here 'If I Had My Way' (which is a beautiful love ballad) that first was on Every Mother's Nightmare's CD 'Wake Up Screaming'
I was so happy to hear this song on here, and Steve does an amazing job with it.

The album is very consistant, not a lot of songs jump out but none let you down either,it's very balanced
and the production is top notch, not to mention Steve is singing as great as ever!
I found this CD by accident (luckily) and I'm glad I bought it

the upside - great 80's style music, performed expertly, the best songs are 'Heavy Pettin' 'Louie Louie' and 'If I Had My Way' but it's really strong the whole way through

the downside - aside from those mentioned, the rest of the songs don't really jump out at you as singles, but that's okay because it sounds great start to finish and it's more of a total experience then 1 or 2 great songs alone, which is the sign of a great CD,the only other negative is I really wish Autograph or Steve would continue to make great music like this,I really miss it

the bottom line - this is perfect for any fan of 80s style hard rock music,it will take you back to a simpler time, great riffs, great singing all done with a smile....I recommend it!!! Donutman says so!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steve Plunkett / My Attitude / Lost and found, January 13, 2003

This review is from: My Attitude (Audio CD)
I do Cd mastering for a living and I have to say this collection of songs is a rare find. Steve Plunkett wrote the music on this CD and produced it. You can see a great example what someone can accomplish when they put a heart & sole effort to it. The songs are well put together and the CD has a great flow from start to end. It has a slight 80's feel but I think it still just sounds as fresh today as when it was written. I have finally picked this cd up used (the only way on the net) and as I listen each time, I am more than satisfied with my purchase. I know that you will be glad you did. If you like Autograph, you will love this. This CD takes it in the direction that they were going and it is sad that more people have not heard it. He has such gift to songs that should be shared more. Maybe they should re-release this? Just a thought?

I can say that listening to this makes me wish he did more and it I could buy it somewhere. Steve if you ever do more , please give me a call.

5.0 out of 5 stars Break Through, January 3, 2002

This review is from: My Attitude (Audio CD)
This album shows the great musician that Steve Plunkett really is. After listening to this album (about 1000 times) I wonder where this sound was while he was with Autograph. The guitar sound in this album is unbeleivable. On Louie Louie he gets Vivian Campbell to do the solo, and on "You Make Me Bleed" and "My Attitude" he reunites with his old bandmates Steve Lynch and Steven Isham. I wish this album would have come out sooner than it did and under Autograph's name because I think it would have made them a maine stay in the 80's instead of one hit WONDERS.

5.0 out of 5 stars STEVE PLUNKETT MY ATTITUDE, July 13, 2001

This review is from: My Attitude (Audio CD)
This one of my favorite albums. If it was possible to wear out a Cd I would have done it with "My Attitude". Steve's solo work shows how his writing ability with Autograph was mostly Steve's impute. If this album was released in 1987 it would have been a huge money maker for S.Plunkett. Unfortunately the sound of the 80's has been hard to find any more through all the current so called rock thats out there. Steve's never lost his ear for that quality sound. Hope he's going to pry himself away from his TV soundtrack work to kick out another album some day. Will look forward to that.
