This book is probably the most important I've ever read. It is very difficult to find, a testament to the type of suppression that has followed the auther David Duke throughout his entire life.

The book jumps back and forth between details of the author's life and research on sociology, anthropology, history and genetics; all of it is carefully referenced. The transformation of the American media is shown clearly and factually. Foreign influences with nefarious purposes have been shown to exist at the heads of all major newspaper publications in the entire country. Most of the legislation which has brought down the national average IQ, school systems and neighborhoods are exposed. It was all blurry before I picked up this book and it is now frighteningly clear. Everybody should read this book if we are to survive.

Those who have sought to discredit and bash the author have been shown as the criminals they are. David Duke has never commited a violent or criminal act in his life, yet he was almost murdered on three occasions. Why? There is not a racial slur or virulent phrase in this entire book. The message is purposeful, positive and redeeming. Open your mind and give it a read, it's well worth it.

In "1984" George Orwell stated, "In a world of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."

Likewise, in "Why I Write" George Orwell states, "I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some facts to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing."

David Duke's "My Awakening" may be one of the best books ever written precisely because David Duke is the embodiment of truth.

His intent is to awaken us and draw attention to the pervasiveness of political-correctness that is so rampant in our deteriorating culture. His warning is very simple, indeed: The destruction of our European heritage as the building block of this nation is the beginning of the end.

I urge everyone to read this book and be shaken to the foundation of your own very core. This is the book that will fill that deep spiritual void.

David Duke is a true-and-tried American patriot whose name will be given to history.

You will find this book to be well worth your time and money. Do yourself, and America, a favor. Read it. There is so much information in Duke's book that needs to reach the consciousness of this nation. To take the silly derogatory comments from the one-star voters (most of whom don't seem to have ever even shared a room with My Awakening) as a valid substitute for reading this book yourself is to spit upon all that humanity has ever strived to build. Buy, read, know, share.

The autobiographical sections will let you known about his highly unusual activist. I found him to be much more interesting that the David Duke falsely painted by the media. The sections on race are devastating! If you think racial differences are only skin deep you will be shocked by the documented, encyclopedic treatment of race in "My Awakening."

really love this book. Many other reviewers have already said a lot about it. So I will only add something personal. I have read a few Christian (I am a born-again Christian) books on the subject. but found all of them bad. What I did not know when I purchased the book--and this was a great surprise--is that David Duke is a born-again, evangelical Christian. His book is however much better than those I read, David Duke is very intelligent, very well read and thinks really sharply. His conclusions are the best ones for Christians as for non-Christians. I heartly recommend it to anyone living in a multi-racial country.

As a European-American Christian, I was deeply moved by Duke'spersonal journey toward the truth about race and especially our proudpeople. His clear-cut form, and painstaking reference to peer-reviewed, scholarly studies was a breath of fresh air in a world where truth has become obscured.

The fact that Stephen Jay Gould and other anthropologists of the socialist bent have been brought "out" by other academics, only supports Duke's thesis, that the races ARE different, and that race DOES matter. For our people, and for blacks. NO WHERE does Duke claim that whites are superior, in fact he speaks highly of black accomplishment at what they are good at, their best attributes. But he is painfully honest, and that will be what hurts his critics the most. Our people have a spirit that can never be extinguished, and Duke is but one light in the fire that is our provence.

The Forward is one of the strong points of this book. Written by Glayde Whitney, it details the philosophy of Thales of Miletus that the real world should be observed and analyzed, and that free discussion of what is found be allowed. The Forward contains a well-written abstract of the book. Its brevity helps ideas stand out clearly. For example, we smugly moralize that people in Communist countries only hear what their rulers want them to hear. We look past the beam in our own eye. Inscribed on the Jefferson Monument is: "Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people [Negroes] are to be free." What is missing is the rest of the quotation: "Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government." My, my.

I have known for decades that there isn't a dime's worth of difference among the major news magazines, newspapers, and TV news programs. I have watched the steady erosion of decency in radio and TV programs, and the movies. Rumors abounded, but nothing substantial was offered until this book. Once someone spells it out, as David Duke has done, it all makes sense. I remain leery, though, and retain Andy Groves' attitude, "Only The Paranoid Survive."

I recommend "My Awakening." Read it and think. Then, be prepared to enter the dialogue that will last for decades. No nation throughout history has solved the problem of how people of various cultures can live together without one culture trying to destroy the others. Americans have a unique opportunity to try to solve that problem, but only if we reject the blender mishmash that we are fed daily.

I had heard of David Duke, but I had no idea what an intelligent and forceful writer he was. His ideology is well grounded and well researched and I am convinced he is (or will be) one of the great leaders of our time. He dispels many of the revisionist myths which are trying to destroy our society and I came away with a sense of purpose to try and spread the truth. While I had asked the same questions he came to confront, he had the ability to research and pick apart many of the lies and misstatement of facts which the media and hate groups in this country try to pass off as the truth. I came away with a tremendous respect for his work and his vision, and I look forward to future books. He is certainly a voice for European Americans.

This book shows what gems can be produced when one is not afraid of not being politically correct. Duke's book is extremely well argued and researched. I read many books, and do not often come across such sound and reasonable books. I want to say something in defense of the book. Apparently it is dismissed because, in a unessential side point Duke mentions that the Jewish bourgeois, elite supported Marxism. The reviewer from Denver (Sept. 30) notes this, says that one cannot be both Jew and Marxist, and therefore dismisses the whole book as "garbage." But anyone who is a little read in history knows that this is true. First of all Marx himself was a Jew (as can be read in any of his biographies, or some specialized books such as Freud, Einstein, and Marx : The Influence of Judaism on Their Work (by Douglas M. Snyder); Political Discourse in Exile : Karl Marx and the Jewish Question (by Dennis K. Fischman) ). Secondly, that the Jewish upper-class endorsed Marxism is a fact denied by noone ( for specific studies see: The Jewish Ethic and the Spirit of Socialism (by Adam M. Weisberger); The Marxists and the Jewish Question : The History of a Debate (1843-1943) (by Enzo Traverso); Essential Papers on Jews and the Left (by Ezra Mendelsohn)). Thirdly, and unfortunately, the Jewish support for Marxism was one of the reasons that motivated Hitler against them, or at least he used it as an argument for antisemitism. Before one criticizes a book he should have some grounds for, a minimum knowledge of the issues.

Concerning Duke himself, I think he is certainly not politically correct, but on the other hand no facist, extremist etc., as his well researched and calm book shows. He is only worried about the future of the white race and its culture, and he explains how he sees this happening and its matters for all (incl. non-whites.) I think one should give him a chance, and consider seriously what he has to say before trashing his book on the basis of prejudice.

At last, a book which explains the most important issue of modern times in a way which will help rather than hinder the cause. Most racially-conscious writers are full of such spleen and venom that they overplay their hand and turn off those they wish to convert. Duke doesn't. He has clearly thought deeply about this issue and holds no hatred for anyone. He just demands the same rights for his own people that non-white "community leaders" demand for theirs. If every American read this book, Duke would be the next president.
