Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-K—Bright and engaging photographs feature four toddler/baby sibling duos. The pairs show a diverse mix of boys and girls in action—smiling, moving, playing—described from the perspective of the toddlers. Every page turn demonstrates a notable advantage to being the older sibling: "You can crawl?/Watch me go./I go fast—/You go slow!" This book works on several levels. Babies will love seeing the photographs of other babies. Older siblings will relish the positive reinforcement about their birth order. And beginning readers will find the text easy to conquer. An enjoyable and useful purchase.—Julie Roach, Cambridge Public Library, MA

the colorful pictures of toddlers and siblings were great for my one year old. The short sentences kept her attention.

My 11 Month Old Just Loves this Book! Babies prefer photos of other babies and this book has lovely -very large photos. It's not a board book so we take a bit more care with it, but the photos are much larger as it's about 9x11. We checked it out at the library and it was such a hit that I decided we needed our own copy. Baby enjoyed this from about 5 or 6 months and still loves it now that she is 11 months old. Great photos and charming text! Great price from Amazon!

Gentieu's photography is excellent beginning with an attractively bright and colorful cover picturing babies and preschoolers. The rhyming text is a series of questions asked by an older sibling to a baby. This adorable book is splendid for toddler storytime or a lapsit. The photos and story celebrate the triumph of preschoolers over babyhood. Four culturally diverse couples of siblings make it useful for multicultural units for preschool teachers.
