Attractive watercolor illustrations and a thorough, well-organized text make this an excellent introduction to gardening. The author covers everything from garden layout to month-by-month care and quietly promotes poison-free pest control. Includes an index and a helpful guide to finding local resources.

I got this book from the library and then ordered it. It has good step by step examples for starting a garden. It has instructions for what to do on a monthly basis. It has pictures of good bugs and bad bugs. It's great for children and beginners in the garden.

A great little book, with attractive, accurate, informative, full color illustrations depicting various plants, gardening tools, garden plot layouts and much, much more.

This is a handy little book, well-printed and edited, on calendered (slick) paper and with a hard, durable cover. Among other things, it tells you a simple method to test your soil that you can do yourself, to tell you whether your soil is clay, silt or sand.

Every gardener should have a copy of this one in his or her library.
