This book makes a wonderful gift and keepsake for a baby's or young child's baptism. The first page contains a place to write in the name of the recipient, baptism date, godparents, etc...The book's biggest strength is its adorable and colorful illustrations on every page. The book contains many short Bible stories, poems, and prayers perfect for the young listener. The content is Biblically sound without being charismatic. The format is perfect for "picking and choosing" a story/prayer or several and does not need to be read straight through. My one disappoint is that there is very little actual baptism content, just a couple of pages. I was hoping for a more complete description to help my godson understand the significance of his baptism as he grows.

Great gift for a baptism. I LOVED the illustrations - they were my favorite thing about the book. I bought it as a gift about a year ago, but if I remember correctly, the book is a lot smaller than I thought it would be - I never even looked at the dimensions! Despite this, I would still recommend it.

I love this little book. I think it is the ideal gift for the family of a child to be baptized. Better than blankies or jewelry or whatever else the gift catalogs offer, this book offers simple but profound teachings (and illustrations that preschool-age kids can relate to) that explain to children (once they can be read to, at about age 2) what their Baptism was all about, and that they are children of God. Beautiful.

Love this book. I bought it for my daughter's baptism and plan to buy more as gifts.

I bought this for my Godson and it is just adorable, loved the illustrations...very sweet. Very special for a special occasion!

I received this as a gift from the godparents of my baby for her baptism. We read it every night before bed. It's not a story. It is a collection of poems and prayers. Love it, love it, love it!

Bought this for my Godson's Baptism after searching for the perfect book. This has beautiful art work, simple but meaningful words and was a perfect gift.

Found this to be a beautiful book and lovely artwork. The BIG problem is that one verse says "O God, as truly as you are our father, so just as truly you are our mother." This is mentioned twice in the verse on that one page. I have had to blacken out the verse which I hated to do in such a beautiful book. I would have cut the page out but that messes up the next page which is part of a two page verse. I have written to the publisher and also have called the religious store where I bought it and asked them to remove it from their shelves.

Cute book, but the prayer inside made me choose not to buy it. God is God the Father. He is masculine. He is not our mother. I suggest buying another book.
