PreS-Gr. 1. A mother wants to show her child everything--how big the sky is and how green the grass, the perfection of a flower, and the softness of a blanket. Desimini's sentiments will more readily appeal to parents than children, but even young ones will respond to phrases such as, "how the rain can tickle your face . . ." and appreciate the picture of a parent and child making hand shadows on the wall. The richly colored artwork, which has the smooth edges and the sometimes unnuanced look of computer-enhanced artwork, seems a bit cool for the warm words, but the individual images themselves--a mother holding a child, a boy watching his father shave--have universal appeal.
