My Best Friend - Klaus Kinski is a treasured find for Kinski (or Herzog!)fans everywhere. Werner Herzog reveals his early experiences with Klaus, such as what it was like sharing an apartment with him - what an experience! The film gives excellent footage of all five Herzog/Kinski collaborations and begins with the most complete footage of Kinski's 'Jesus Christus Erloser' performance. After watching this film, one realizes that in the end Klaus and Werner really were friends. My favourite part was the butterfly/Klaus footage. The butterfly was deeply attracted to Klaus and would not leave him. It kept coming to him, landing on his hands, face, etc.. It was easy to see that Klaus truly enjoyed this as he twirled around with it for the camera. Beautiful! Highly recommended for anyone (like me!) wanting a better understanding of Klaus Kinski.

This is Herzog's sometimes hilarious documentary about his work with Klaus Kinski. Kinski sometimes simply seemed out of his mind, and Herzog was often on the receiving end of Kinski's wrath. Fascinating!
