About the Author
This is the first book by award winning songwriter, music producer, and entertainer Kari Reeves. Kari is the Daughter of Grand Ole Opry star Del Reeves and served as a columnist for the Nashville based country music magazine 'Entertainment Express as well as contributing to numerous other magazines and publications. Currently, Kari runs a conglomerate of music industry-related companies and remains active in artist development.

I am a major Billy Ray Cyrus fan and bought this book the first day it went on sale. The problem I had with the book is that the author says the things are true and Billy Ray Cyrus says they are not. It would be a very good romantic fiction type novel but it's very hard to take what was said to heart since everything has been denied by Billy Ray himself.

I will always be a Billy Ray fan no matter what Kari said about him! She went into the "relationship" with her eyes open and knew he was married. He continuously referred to her as a friend, so she is the one who put a more permanent position in the "friendship". As the old adage says, DON'T MIX BUSINESS WITH PLEASURE. These are her words only, so the other side hasn't been heard from yet!

The book "My Billy Ray Cyrus Story: Some Gave Too Much" by Kari Reeves is an interesting read. Written from the perspective of a young professional women falling in love with a munipulating rising star in the Country Music industry. It wasn't just dumb luck that Billy Ray Cyrus became successful, every move was thought out and if anyone got hurt along the way, well so be it! This is a real insight to a man that many people adore only to realize that when the cameras are turned off, he's just another fame hungry country boy from from the poverty stricken hills of Kentucky. The back ground of this would be romance is the beautiful rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, specifically Hickman County. The locations of events described in the book are accurate and bring color to a fairy tale romance that turns out to be a cautionary tale about love and business not mixing together very well. I recommend this book as a good read on a rainy afternoon. Enjoy.
