5.0 out of 5 stars Great material from an evolving band., August 5, 2006

This is a great album! Imagika have improved in at least one aspect on every album they have put out. This time, it is the vocals that really got my attention. Norman's vocal range is much wider on this album. The last album, "Devils on Both Sides", which is in every right an album in the same caliber as "My Bloodied Wings", was great. But on this album, the vocals range from melodic power/thrash, to Halfordesque screams, to a gutteral roar that reminds one of Chuck Billy. This is a must have, if you are a fan of bands like Iced Earth, Forbidden, and Testament. Also, the production on this album is some of the best ever. Total Classic!

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting better....., July 22, 2006

I'll be honest & say that I havn't heard the last Imagika album but comparing this album to 'And so it Burns,' I can definitely see how Imagika has evolved to a serious band. This album is heavy from beginning to end & at times melodic which gives it a nice touch. Honestly this album could possibily go unnoticed if you listen to the track 'Forever Darkened' (which they released on-line before the album's release) if you were thinking to buy this album. It's not that 'Forever Darkened' is bad, but it's not really great either especially compared to all of the other tracks on 'My Bloodied Wings.' The only thing keeping me from giving this CD a 5 star rating is that at times Norman Skinner's vocals are often off-key, which could be done intentionally, but still it can be a little annoying to listen to at times; fear not however, because like I was saying this album is great from beginning to end & the music more than makes up for the OK vocal performance. **As a side note, I would say that 'My Bloodied Wings' is kind of like Iced Earth today w/ a taste of it's past album 'Burnt Offerings!'**
