My Building,
By
This review is from: My Building (Hardcover)
With easy rhyming text and bright simple illustrations this book by Robin Isabel Ahrens is a good introduction to a child's view of life in an apartment building. From pleasant things like music from stereos and cooking smells galore the young boy brings your attention to the many varied experiences apartment living includes. Ending with the quip, "From where I see my building, Which almost scrapes the sky, I'm glad to be a part of it-- Not just a passerby". Definitely a child's rosy view, still a good book to widen a young child's horizon.

I recently went to a book reading by the author. The book is just lovely (and the author is lovely as well). Even though I am no longer an "urban dweller", I appreciated all of the city life references and my kids just loved it.
