Such a cute book,

This review is from: My Cowboy Boots (Mothers of Preschoolers (Mops)) (Hardcover)
My little girl recieved this book for Christmas and really enjoys hearing it being read. The little girl loves her red cowboy boots and wears them every day of the week. Each day has a little rhyme for the reason the girl likes her boots. The pictures are very sweet and the little girl has such an expression of joy on her face. The wording is very good and has a good rhythm to it. Overall, it's a great book but probably geared more for a little girl.

Give yourself a smile,
This review is from: My Cowboy Boots (I Can Read!) (Paperback)
I could not help but smile every time I read this book to my girls or even just looked at the cover.
One of my girls has red boots that she just "had" to have for horse class so I see a lot of her in this book. I think it is an adorable, well written, sweet and thoughtful book to teach children to just be themselves. Not the neighbor, the not the kids on t.v., not theheroes in cartoons...just themselves. The perfect little people that God made them to be. The little character in this book loves her boots. They go on adventures, they "talk" to each other and she enjoys them! I love it! Innocence is beautiful. Childhood can be amazing and put them together with red boots...well, you have a book that will make you smile from ear to ear and get you on the search for a pair of red boots of your own.My Cowboy Boots (I Can Read!)

Adding to Zondervan's much welcomed line of "I Can Read!" books is Crystal Bowman's "My Cowboy Boots."
This jaunty level 1 early reader book is illustrated by Meredith Johnson (of the popular "Gigi" series) and is written in apt rhyme. It's the story of a little girl who loves her red cowboy boots and wears them whenever possible: While she eats, shops, swings, rides her bike, sings "Jesus Loves Me," attends church, and rides her stick horse: "I wear my boots on Wednesday to ride the rodeo. I hop on my big pony. Giddy-up;! Here we go!" What I Like: This is a fun early reader for young children. Bowman is an expert with rhyme, and rhyme only helps beginning readers learn new words. Johnson's illustrations add a great deal of fun to text, showing a hard-playing little girl finding great joy in a simple blessing: her boots. What I Dislike: Nothing, but it's important to note the Christian overtones of this book are subtle, confined to the brief mention of a Christian song and going to church. Overall Rating: Very good. We were given this book when my daughter was 2 months old, and we began reading it to her right away. The sing-song rhymes and the colorful, happy pictures really hold her attention. There is the perfect amount of text on each page -- with some other books she loses her attention before it is time to turn the page. The pictures are interesting by themselves, as we have learned by taking the book to church with us. We can slowly turn the pages over and over during the entire sermon, and she looks at the pictures quietly the whole time. She is now 10 months old and still enjoys having us read it to her over and over. I am buying a second copy since she has chewed the edges and it is finally starting to fall apart. My only warning is that this book has a mild Christian tone (which we love), but might not be appropriate for everyone. On one page she sings "Jesus Loves Me", on another page she says "I know that God is smiling" and on the Sunday page she goes to church to pray. Overall, my husband and I both think this is a charming book for little girls.
