5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!!
My boys (ages 6 & 3) love this book -- as do I! It includes creation, the fall, and Christ's redemption. It is a sturdy board book and is easy to read but it still contains substance. I highly recommend getting this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Loves that kids can read along...with CD
I love when books have a CD that someone can read the book as my children follow along with them. It makes my life a little simpler.

I appreciate the message of this book. Although, I would not call it a Bible. It is based on few scriptures turned into rhymes. The CD itself just tells the story and does not have other songs on it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Loves that kids can read along...with CD, October 23, 2010

I appreciate the message of this book. Although, I would not call it a Bible. It is based on few scriptures turned into rhymes. The CD itself just tells the story and does not have other songs on it.

My 8 year old actually enjoyed it more than my 4 year old. She enjoyed the poems. My 4 year old enjoyed looking for the goat.

For younger kids, it might have kept their interest more to have had an "I SPY" approach. Have something they could look for on each page as the parent reads the story- just a suggestion.

Overall, it is a cute book and would be great for a road trip!

Blessings to you! You are loved!

Our son has this book and loves it, and so do we. It presents God's Word accurately and in a fashion our 3 yr old son and almost 2 yr old daughter can relate too. We loved it so much we bought this one for a neice for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, November 17, 2010
This review is from: My Creation Bible: Teaching Kids to Trust the Bible from the Very First Verse (Board book)
We recently received the "My Creation Bible" by Ken Ham in the mail, and I LOVE it! For someone who has at least 4 or 5 children's Bibles, this one only adds to our collection. It is board-book style, so pages cannot be easily ripped out, and if it is drawn on, I can wipe it off. It also has a handle on its side, which makes it very easy for my two year old to carry around (and fun!). For a child just starting to get into dinosaurs, it is very neat to have children's Bible that includes dinosaurs in the creation story. My son is still in the stage where he likes books that rhyme, so this Bible is perfect since its sentences rhyme with each other (although a little cheesy, but what kid book that rhymes isn't?). It is also nicely illustrated and has tons of animals throughout, which makes it fun to talk about all that God created. It makes me want to do a preschool lesson on creation! My only dislike about the book is that it goes from the tower of babel straight to the Cross. I understand that, since it is a creation Bible, it covers the first few books of Genesis, but the transition seems a little rough for a children's book. Other than that, I am very pleased to add this book to our collection.

Thanks to New Leaf Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book. They only asked for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

This children's Creation Bible is excellent. It is very sturdy (cardboard-like pages) and even has a handle. My 3 year old grandson loves his Bible and feels so big carrying it to church each Sunday!

"MY CREATION BIBLE" AND "A IS FOR ADAM" ARE GREAT BOOKS FOR MAKING FIRST STEPS IN CHILD'S LEARNING ABOUT TRUTH ON ORIGINS, HISTORY AND ABOUT EXTINCTION OF DINOSAURS IN GLOBAL FLOOD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, November 2, 2010
This review is from: My Creation Bible: Teaching Kids to Trust the Bible from the Very First Verse (Board book)
This cute, colorful, sturdy book traces a line from Creation, to the Fall, to Noah, to the Tower of Babel, to Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection as a sacrifice for that first sin and all the sins in between and as a message of hope for all who believe in Him.

I loved that this short little board book not only depicted the creation story, complete with dinosaurs, but also how Adam and Eve's first sin of disobedience affected all of humanity to come after them (depicted in the stories about Noah and the Tower of Babel) and shows that we all need a Savior. The second half of the book talks about how Jesus, God's Son, came to earth and did what no human man could do. The book tells how He died on the cross as payment for our sins and then rose again (picture of an empty tomb) and provided a way for us to go to Heaven too and be with God, if we just believe in Jesus.

Now, since this book details creation, sin, and the Gospel message, I think it is worthy of the title "Bible" even if it is a very short children's book and leaves out a lot. Obviously it is nowhere near long enough to be a whole Bible, but I think it does a good job getting down the basics of the salvation story.

My 2-year-old daughter LOVES this book. She likes the pictures, the fact that the story is written in rhyming couplets, and the fact that the book has a nifty little handle (that is surprisingly sturdy).

To be fair, however, the rhymes are often a bit of a stretch, and the rhythm is... well... not at all perfect. I was excited to see that the book came with a CD, and I was hoping that it would have some new songs on it about creation (I've heard some of the songs Ken Ham's song guy has done before and they're always fun). However, the CD is just a semi-musical version of the book being read aloud, which was a little disappointing (some words are added in the CD version, however, which helps the rhythm flow a bit better).

Overall, we love this book and are excited to add it to our family library!

The FTC requires that I include that I received this book for free through a blogger review program. However, New Leaf Publishing Group did not ask for a positive review, merely an honest one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great intro to creation, October 27, 2010
This review is from: My Creation Bible: Teaching Kids to Trust the Bible from the Very First Verse (Board book)
My Creation Bible, by Ken Ham includes fascinating illustrations, lots of truth from God's Word, and a few rhymes that were really a stretch.

I like it, but I feel like this book is misnamed. It isn't really a bible, as it goes from creation to Noah to the tower of Babel and then skips to Jesus rising from the grave. (Oh yeah, and there is one picture of the nativity scene right after Adam and Eve sin that I feel would be confusing to children. The point is to say that because of the sin they committed, we now needed a Savior and Jesus was born to fulfill that purpose. I get that, but skipping right back to Noah working on the ark on the next page is a bit confusing since Jesus didn't actually arrive in human form for several thousand years!) So, though the stories in it are true, I don't feel that it's complete enough to truly be considered a bible.

The book covers the topics of the order of creation, the Garden of Eden and sin, dinosaurs, Noah and the flood (and subsequent fossil creation), the Tower of Babel and people groups, and Jesus being the door to heaven. In typical New Leaf fashion, there are lots of dinosaurs scattered throughout the book, which I mostly liked. Most bibles/children's story books act like they never existed, but Ken Ham has them boarding the ark with the rest of God's creation, which is much more likely what happened.

The final test: My 20-month old LOVES it. She is constantly asking for, "Bye-Bul?? BIIIIBLE?" , wants to see the "Way-uhl" (one picture on one page and we must always find it!), and loves carrying it around with its little handle (a nice touch). I'm all for getting this little girl to love the bible (well, at least a few of it's stories) at a young age, so of course I always oblige. I hope this book will mean even more to her as she grows up and can understand the stories in it more fully.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful way to introduce Creation to your toddlers and preschoolers, November 9, 2010
This review is from: My Creation Bible: Teaching Kids to Trust the Bible from the Very First Verse (Board book)
"Children need to know that the history in the Bible is real and explains today's world. Fossils, death, moral issues, and even the question of different people groups are all answered in the Bible - and it is this vital biblical foundation that children need as they grow up in a world increasingly hostile to God's truth." - Ken Ham

My Creation Bible is another wonderful creation resource from Ken Ham. This time, it's for the youngest creationists...toddlers and preschoolers.

This sweet book is written in factual, clever rhyme and beautifully illustrated. It contains the account of the Creation week until the Tower of Babel - PLUS God's plan of redemption. Salvation through Jesus Christ.

My 1 year old enjoyed looking at the pages and loved the accompanying music cd with the text of the book sung by Buddy Davis. I loved the truth contained within it's VERY sturdy and strong pages which will hold up long after cuddle time is over!
