I realize that you can find most of this stuff scattered around the internet but this book is a must have for anyone but especially beginners.

I realize that you can find most of this stuff scattered around the internet but this book is a must have for anyone but especially beginners. I found this to be VERY helpful just starting out. I will recommend to all my scrapbooking friends. A bit on the pricey side but you get your money's worth and more!

My favorite part about this book is that it isn't just a bunch of pages other people have created that you then get caught up in the photos and stories, forgetting why you originally went looking. For years, I'd gotten the scrap magazines, which, while beautiful and ususally inspiring, did not always help me. I usually thought I had to find a book with exactly the theme I was working on. The good news is that you don't, and this book has mock-ups of layouts, borders, etc. that are easily adaptable to any book you're working on. I think the only downside might be that there are so many new techniques that have come out in the five years since it was published, that it may not cover as much as some might like. Having said that, I'm willing to bet the #2 that just came out will pick those up perfectly! From my perspective, buying either book (or even both!) would be a good investment for anyone who's found themselves stuck creatively!

As a beginning scrapper who is throughly excited about all the gadgets, gizmos and tools involved with scrapbooking, I find this book to be one of the most invaluable tools in any scrapper's arsenal. I have literally spent a year collecting supplies and getting everything ready to scrap. However, there is soooo much info out there to sift through that I have spent weeks doing internet research and sifting through magazines and still not been able to get photos on the page! (After all, isn't that the goal?)

Magazines typically cost $9 or more per issue. At that rate this book pays for itself in a few months. Plus, it's not cluttered up with a lot of extraneous ads and pictures. It's just simple layouts that get me started and let me be the most creative. AND I can easily carry it to any crop.

I'm a real cheapskate and most of my stuff was purchased at 40% off or more. This book is so simple and yet so valuable, I would pay full price to have it in my scrapping toolkit!

Now I can surf the web for embellishment ideas and tool tips, but have the basics at my fingertips--whether the cable is out or not!

This book is a must for any scrapbooker. When you really want to scrapbook and have no ideas this book is the solution to all of your needs. It's amazing the ground it covers. I can't wait to have the 2nd one. You will not be let down by this one. It's a keeper. The layout section is probably the most helpful to me. Even when you only have 2 pictures it still helps you create a page that is unique.

I just got this book last week and it is amazing.

I am a beginner and while I did 5 fantastic pages at my first crop it is sometimes hard to get ideas.

I have a hard time with journaling and how to place the photos sometimes. This is great at helping you get started and then running with an idea. I too have been collecting items for almost a year and hate to pay full price for anything. I found this in a discount area at a national Scrapbooking store for 25% off because it had a damaged corner. I can't wait to get started using it!

Becky Higgins is a wealth of ideas for scrappers, and this book is just the thing I need when I'm trying to put together a layout. In the world of scrapbooking, trends come and go, but because these ideas are based onkey graphic design concepts (and all of Becky's stuff is like this)they can easily transfer over to new styles and techniques. If you are an experienced scrapper, then you've probably seen a lot of this stuff before and would benefit from getting her newest book, "Best of Becky Higgins Sketches." But I consider this book indispensable!

I bought this book 5 years ago, and I still use it. This book, and all of Becky's sketch books, give you ideas for pages not reliant upon products, designs, or themes. I simply look for a page layout based on how many photos I have and their orientation. Turn the book 90 degrees and you have more options. Turn it upside down for even more options. Have an empty space to fill with an accent? Check out that section. Wondering how to emphasize your focal point photo? Look at frames.

The best thing about this book is that the sketches do not rely upon the more modern trend of oddly sized photos. All the photos in this book are 4 x 6 or thereabouts. No PhotoShop skills or computer equipment is necessary!

Absolutely worth every penny.
