THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING BOOK TO READ TO CHILDREN TO EXPLAIN HOW IMPORTANT A DAD IS IN A CHILDS LIFE, OF COURSE THE AUTHOR DOES IT IN A FUN RHYMING WAY. MY KIDS LOVE THIS BOOK AND HAVE EVEN MEMORIZED IT BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH FUN....ALL BOOKS BY P.K. HALLINAN ARE!!!

P. K. Hallinan writes WONDERFUL children's books! This series, including My Mommy and I, My Grandpa and I, and My Grandma and I all reinforce the wonderful relationship that children can enjoy with everyone God has given them without being 'preachy' at all.

My 3 year-old daughter loves this book and so does her dad. She can even recite most of it just by looking at the pages. I highly recommend it.

PK Hallinan has a series of {insert relative) and I books. They are all enjoyable to read, and help to settle down our little ones at night. The all have subtle variations between them as they tell a short story about the special things children sometimes do with grandfathers, grandmother, and of course parents.
Highly regarded in our house, and very inexpensive.

My 22 month old son loves these books! The pictures are engaging and there's lots to discuss while reading.

I really enjoy the books written by P.K. Hallinan. The illustrations are adorable and the writing is cute and kid-friendly. My son likes to hear the story about kids and their daddies.

I noticed that a review mentions the two pages that talk about church in this book and how that might "offend" non-church goers. How about the other pages in the books...the ones with daddy and son playing sports or delivering goodies to the neighbors or gardening? Not all dads do all of those things and I think the purpose of the book is to show what ALL kinds of daddies can do with their kids. Let's teach our kids tolerance and understanding...and not go overboard on a children's book.

This is a very nice book about spending quality time together. My 1 year old gave this book to her dad for Father's Day. My daughter loves it and wants to read it every night, especially when daddy is traveling. My daughter also loves 'My Mommy and I' and 'My Grandma and I'. All three books are staples at bedtime.

I really like this story for dad to share with kids... it's the one my boys always pick for my husband to read to them. My only criticism is the church undertones and it's almost exclusionary if you and your family don't attend church.
Still a good story, though. And nicely constructed book.

I know this book by heart, which as any mom of a toddler will tell you,is a sure sign of a winning book. My oldest son still (2 1/2)pulls this one out of the bookshelf and asks me to read "Daddy I."

I really enjoy P.K. Hallinan's My Sister and I, so I tried this one and My Mommy and I. She writes well and has great ideas, but both My Mommy and I and My Daddy and I have pages devoted to the joys of attending and praying in church together. In My Sister and I, she writes that the sisters work on developing their friendship that "G_d sent our way". That has universality. She alienates readers of other religions in books like My Mommy and I and My Daddy and I.
