This book is now the new favorite of my 3 1/2 year old. The color and style is incredible. It would make a terrific father's day present!

This childrens book is truly breath taking. Read it carefully and you'll see the impact a father can have on his child. Look for the Cardinal (male protector of their young...Nurturing). I remember what it was like to be that age, the stuffed animals were sometimes your only friends, and they made you feel secure in times of need.
Susan Paradis (Paradise) has created a work on genius! I'm impressed!

Being the father for the first time can be a trying yet very very rewarding experience. My wife gave me this book for fathers day, yep the first, from our son and it has been heart touching. I read this to our son before bed every night and the way he looks into my eyes and really listens to my words just melts my heart. I recommend this to anyone wanting to convey the message of honesty, security, and love to the little one. The illustrations are great and the words make me proud to be a dad! I love you son! You make being a dad the best thing that has ever happened to me.

My 2 year old loves this book. It's perfect for the dad who is a triathlete! Daddy runs, bikes and swims. I'm looking forward to getting the Mommy book as well.

This is a wonderful book for young children (we love it, too)...it has been my two year old's favorite book for months. He made up signs to go with different pages (waving bye on one page, pointing to the moon for another). He really seems to connect with this book...and it seems to comfort him when Daddy is working late.

I was excited to get a heart-warming sweet book for my husband and two sons to enjoy during our bedtime reading routine. However, this book is not sweet. The illustrations are ugly and bizarre (wild animals all over every picture - randomly) and the things daddy is special for are stupid (for lack of a better word!).
Daddy is special because he can touch the moon (no, he can't) - run without a coat (uhm. okay?) - he can dig a hole to china (c'mon now). My 2 and 4 year old kept saying, "I wish MY daddy could do that!" haha. Whoops! The book is supposed to make dads and kids feel good, not feel inadequate.
I really wanted to hear things that most boys are proud of their daddy for... daddy is strong, daddy is brave, daddy is smart, daddy can fix things - he uses tools, he mows the lawn, he loves mommy, I want to be like daddy type of stuff. Sorry - for the rant, but who wrote this?? & What is everyone else reading? It wasn't heartwarming. I was disappointed. My kids like the book okay, but they keep asking what stuff means and my two year old shouts "oh no" every time he sees the picture of the dad crossing the street and there's a tiger on the other side.
My advice: find another daddy book.

Every child needs to think that his/her Daddy can touch the moon or dig to China. Kids see their Dads as heroes. This book sets to words and beautiful illustrations every kid's belief. It is a perfect new birth book.

In <em>My Daddy</em>, a little boy tells us about how magnificent his daddy is, a man who can "cross the street alone" and "run outside without a coat". The pictures are filled with surrealism and animal images, echoing the text and portraying the magical realism of a child's world. This story is told in only a very few words but nonetheless is deeply evocative of the pride and wonder that a very young child can feel in his father's seemingly godlike abilities. My Daddy both reminds us of the importance to children of feeling safe and secure with a father, and inspires us to be the best that we can be for them. I love this book. I love it, because we don't have too many books dedicated for fathers. I have read this book to my children and to my students, they all loved it. It is so true that a small act can mean so much and be seen under a different light from a the child's perspective. A DAD is a hero for a child and his actions are heroic. I hope every parent, specially fathers understand that and give more attention to their children.

The imagery here is excellent. The pitures are simply beautiful and the message is wholesome. I found myself lingering on each page for quite a while. There is plenty to occupy a child's attention on each page, as well.
