I previously read "Fire and Cross" by Enid Wilson and had higher hopes for this collection of short stories. Although the stories have different settings, the plots are pretty much the same. For the most part we find the dominating heroine meeting the submissive male. Within a short time they have hot sex, deflect the trials of the bad guys and later get married. It did not bother me that the characters were so altered from the Austen originals....whatever new direction they took, I would have liked more character development and substance within the plot. Sorry Enid...but this one did not cut it for me. *** Jen Red

It has nothing to do with the original except for the names of Darcy and Elizabeth. This is a book with multiple 'what if' storylines - that all have racy sex scenes (which doesn't bother me). Will I read it again, not likely. It is is merely a fun read; nothing to take seriously but to offer a brief distraction from your day. It is as it states " a collection of P&P inspired steamy short stories". I got exactly what I expected.

This book is not for the faint of heart, and does deliver what the title states. Some of the stories are better than others. The author divides the book into several sections for her stories. I did enjoy the historically located ones better than the modern or future settings. Be prepared for graphic sequences, this is definitely NOT for children or those who do not wish their favorite literary couple to have sex.
