5.0 out of 5 stars Hillarious....nothing from Disney has changed.
MY DATE WITH THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER is a hillarious and a very fun movie. (It may not be Oscar material but hey, it's still worth seeing!) The movie starts out when Duncan Fletcher (played by Will Friedle, of TV's "Boy Meets World"), a magichian-wannabe 'teen, makes a bet with his two best friends that he can get a date to their next school dance with the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids, but not sophisticated enough for adults
What I liked about this movie:
interesting plot idea

What I didn't like about this movie:
situations were too unbelievable
characters were a little flat and stereotypical
the girl kept getting them into trouble by her own stupidity, and the guy kept letting her

MY DATE WITH THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER is a hillarious and a very fun movie. (It may not be Oscar material but hey, it's still worth seeing!) The movie starts out when Duncan Fletcher (played by Will Friedle, of TV's "Boy Meets World"), a magichian-wannabe 'teen, makes a bet with his two best friends that he can get a date to their next school dance with the first girl he sees, even though he knows he's kind of a geek in school. Duncan just happens to live in Washington D.C., by the way. When he goes to the mall, he meets Haley Richmond, who just happens to be the President of the United State's daughter...except he doesn't know that! When she agrees to go to the dance with him (she does it in a hurry - the Secret Service were looking for her because she snuck away from her father's speech), she tells him she lives in a big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue at number 1016. Thinking that Haley is just a normal, everyday girl, Duncan (on the night of the dance), goes to her house and picks her up...little does he know he's going to the White House! Pretty soon, he finds himself standing in front of the Preident of the United States himself - with Haley waiting and ready to go! And that's just the beginning of their crazy adventure date. First, they go to the movies and ditch the two Secret Service men who were supposed to be with them. Then, while they are at a night dance club, Duncan's father's car he drives for work gets stolen (and Duncan didn't even tell his father he was borrowing the car for his date!) so they are on a wild chase to catch the two 'teens who stole the car. And all the while, Duncan's trying to get Haley to go to his school dance so he could win the bet. (His friends said that he'd only win the bet if he showed up at the dance with the President's daughter!) Also, Duncan ends up doing a magic show at a bar in front of a bunch of gangsters...and when Haley finds out Duncan only asked her out for a bet, she ditches him and goes to a party with his worst enemy! So if you wanna see what happens (and if Duncan finally does win the bet and Haley back), then you should definately watch this movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Movie, March 6, 2001

Get ready for chaotic comedy as Walt Disney Home Video presents "My Date with the President's Daughter," a lively, entertaining film the whole family will enjoy.

The fun begins when gun-shy Duncan (Will Friedle, TV's "Boy Meets World") meets Hallie and asks her out. But when Duncan pulls up to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and realizes it's the White House, he thinks she's played a trick on him. To his surprise, he's ushered into the Oval Office to meet Hallie's father -- the President of the United States (Dabney Coleman, "Inspector Gadget," "You've Got Mail"). Soon Hallie and Duncan leave on their date -- accompanied by two Secret Service agents. Excited about her freedom, Hallie wants to cram everything she's ever wanted to do into this one night. They ditch the agents, but just as their fun begins, Duncan's car is stolen, they're chased by bikers, and the President is mistakenly arrested while out looking for her!

One of the wildest comedy adventures this side of the Potomac, "My Date with the President's Daughter" is one date you won't want to miss!

Let's mention that his dad BMW work car was stolen when he was out on his date with Hallie. After everything has been solved his his dad car was back to him, they was driving and daddy ran the stop sign and and was in the wreck.

5.0 out of 5 stars An All-American Production, May 5, 2002
By A Customer
This story follows one of the most bizzare dates in the country. Hallie Richmond is the President's daughter and longs for a normal life. Duncan Fletcher is a shy guy who does magic and can't get a date for a school dance. After a press conference, Hallie escapes to a local mall to have a fun afternoon. Duncan, on the other hand, has a big problem. His friends bet him 50 bucks that he can't get the first girl he sees to be his date for the dance. Just before Duncan give up hope, he sees Hallie in a store and flips for her. After a brief talk, she spots Secret Service agents looking for her, so she agrees to be Duncan's date. But she neglected to tell him she's the President's Daughter. When Duncan pulls up to 1600 Pennsilvania Avenue, he thinks he's been stood up. When he's ushered into the Oval Office, he comes face-to-face with the leader of the U.S. When they leave, Hallie takes advantage of her freedom and decideds to cram everything she's ever wanted to do into one evening. What follows is a series of hilarious acts in one of the greatest places in the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilariously Funny! Great Family Film!, October 6, 2000

All Haley Richmond (Elisabeth Harnois) wants is to be left alone, but that's not so easy when your the president's daughter. One day while at her father's campain to be re-elected as president she sneaks off the stage and into a nearby mall. While there she catches the attention of Duncan Flecher (Will Fredielle, Boy Meets World) a nerdy, magic trick expert teen who just made a bet with his friends that he can get a date for the school dance.

The two hit it off instantly and set a date for the night of the dance. After begging her father (Dabney Colman) to let her go & Duncan stealing his dad's company car for the night, the date is on! While at a movie they ditch the secret service & Duncan's family is hauled in to the White House to find out where the two might have gone. They end up putting on a mgic show at a biker bar, get the vice president's son beat up at a club, get the company car stolen, and all this time their persued by the secret service.

The film appeaed on ABC's Wonderful World of Disney, and marked the motion picture debut for Elisabeth Harnois.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Movie., November 29, 2010
This review is from: My Date With President's Daughter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This made-for-TV Disney movie is really cute, but could have been better. I gave it 5 stars because I simply fell in love with Elizabeth Harnois (who plays the President's daughter). Should have been a big-budget boy-meets-girl type film from Disney.

Ive seen this movie so many times on the disney channel and I still like it! Its about this kinda dorky magic trick loving teen who bets his friends he can get a date for the dance. Well-he does-well-sorta! When he goes to pick up this girl he is totally surprised that shes the presidents daughter! The movie makes the drive to the dance a total adventure!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite a bit of fun for a TV movie, July 20, 2000
By A Customer
Will Friedle ("Boy Meets World"), Elisabeth Harnois, and Dabney Coleman star in this fun comedy adventure from The Wonderful World of Disney. When Duncan Fletcher (Friedle) is looking for a date to take to his high school dance as part of a bet with his friends, he stumbles upon Haley Richmond, who just happens to be "the President...of our country". What ensues is a string of encounters a la "Adventures in Babysitting" where Duncan and Haley ditch the Secret Service, find themselves in trouble with some street gangsters, and have a special night of fun during all the craziness. The young stars are up to the task here in this enjoyable film, which is able to avoid being a typical teen comedy. Dabney Coleman (as President) and Jay Thomas (as Duncan's father) also provide some laughs. The only thing that disappoints me is Disney has released this on VHS only. Too bad, because it would make a good DVD.
