5.0 out of 5 stars IF I HAD A TOP 10 LIST, THIS WOULD BE ON IT!
I have a 5 year old daughter developing typically and 7 year old son with autism. Never have I found a game they both like SO MUCH, and I'm here to tell ya that even as their mother and at my age I EVEN HAD FUN playing!

I've never left a review here before, but felt so strongly about the game I just had to!

There is no strategy, winning or losing to this...it is...

3.0 out of 5 stars 5 Year Old Daughters Like It
My twin 5 yr. old girls like this one. While it's not the coolest software on earth, they enjoy the fun of cooking in Mickey's kitchen. It is bright, cheerful, and engaging. It's not a must have, but it was a gift to us, and they do like it.

There is no strategy, winning or losing to this...it is simply about enjoying 'pretend play'. Getting to do all the things you see mommy and/or daddy do in the kitchen. There are too many features to list...but there's a stove which can turn into a grill or bakery, a sink where you fill your pot to boil noodles or wash dishes if you add the soap. A microwave, choice of tableclothes, silverware, glassware, a fridge and freezer fully stocked for all types of meals and treats. A phone, radio, a recipe box you can summon.

This is a great game for a child like my daughter that loves to immitate mommy in the kitchen, and loves playing with her pretend kitchen. However, with this game, when she finishes creating one of hundreds of breakfasts, deserts, meals...she can serve Mickey and Minie and they tell her how delicious it was as they eat it in front of her.

My son enjoyed being told how delicious his creations were as well, and I have never seen him take that kind of pride in that type of thing before...for sure not on a computer, and rarely even in real life.

The best part for me is they get the satisfaction of cooking and playing 'kitchen' with NO CLEAN UP for me!

I'd give this game a 10+, but it only allows 5 stars.

And btw, neither of my kids were familiar with Mickey and Minie mouse, so that is not a prerequisite to enjoying this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 yo loves it!, October 12, 2003
This review is from: My Disney Kitchen (Video Game)
My 5 yo loves this game. She has been playing it for a year now and is getting much better at baking cakes, making breakfast, etc. She does some bizzare stuff in the kitchen <g>, but it's all in good fun and I don't have to clean it up! LOL I highly recommend it.

Bought this for my 4 year old daughter, but I found my three older step daughters (ages 10-14) all waiting in line for a turn - they enjoyed it as well! Easy game and fun. For ten bucks, definitely worth it.

My 5 year old daughter thinks this is great!!! She loves to help in the kitchen, but, I can't really let her near the stove to cook. With this she is baking cakes, pancakes, decorating cakes. Changing the kitchen around. I have to make her shut this off to eat at night. Again, this is great for the littler helper who just can't really help out in the kitchen yet.

A game my 5 y/o daughter will play and can play alone. She loves it. I had given her my ps2 after upgrading and kept having to go out to buy new games because she couldnt play any. I bought powerpuff girls and strawberry shortcake games because she loves those characters but they were a bit too advanced for her. I finally decided to get this game to try before putting the ps2 away after reading a review that said it was easy to play and you cant lose at it. She loves loves loves loves this game. She can play it alone and has learned how to turn everything on for herself. Not that Im lazy I am disabled and needed something for her to be able to do alone and have fun with while I rest or do homework and this is it. I showed her which buttons to push and its pretty easy. Theres no reading so you dont have to worry about them not knowing what to do or being able to read what comes next. It is free play so as long as your kid has some imagination they will never run out of things to do. Mickey and Minnie do not always show up which at first did disappoint her but then she figured out all the things you can do that will cause them to pop up such as changing the table cloth. She also told me that one of the characters had bought a turkey over for her. After playing this game we made cupcakes together for the first time and she felt like she knew what she was doing because of what she learned in the game. Its a great game if you are looking for something a young kid can do on their own this is for you. Try to get a good deal on it I got mine for under 5 bucks and really dont see it being worth more than 10

My 5yo son just loves this game. For the last 2 weeks he is more interested in this game than his regular favorite cartoons.
Heaps of things to interact with and he even came up with his own recipes.
I must admit i dont mind playing it myself.
To me this game brings good creative and self thinking tools to the computer.
Hope they bring out an add on !
