A psychospiritual primer which introduces the reader to the three parts of his/her psyche, named in the title. We all have God deep inside our souls, where God placed Him/HerSelf. God created us as perfect spiritual energy beings, I, living in harmony and bliss in the spiritual realm called Paradise. We then created our individual egos which set themselves up as independent of God, and in opposition to God. Our egos are responsible for the duality, conflict,and wars in the world, as well as for all illnesses, defects, flaws of any kind, and limitations and restrictions. Over eons of time, we became progressively more enamored of our egos, gave them more power, until they took control of us, and we came almost completely under their spell. The world today is run by egos. World peace will not come about until our egos learn to surrender their power so that we, our True Selves, I, may emerge once again, and live in Love, Joy, Peace, and Harmony. Our task here on earth is to help our egos surrender by channeling God's infinite Love to them and through them.

About the Author

Jerry Hirschfield is a spiritual psychotherapist in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly in private practice in Sherman Oaks, California. He is also an author of spiritual books. Prior to his transition to his author/therapist career, he was an electronics engineer, manager, and consultant in the aerospace industry for 25 years. Jerry has a Ph.D. degree in psychology, two master's degrees, and a bachelor's degree from M.I.T. He has lectured extensively throughout the country and written numerous spiritual articles. Dr. Hirschfield was born in France and came to the United States at age 11 to escape the Nazi invasion during World War II. He currently resides in Hollywood, Florida.

This book is the clearest, most easily understood description of the individual's spiritual journey that I have ever read. I have read alot! It helps one to understand what he or she is going through and why. Thank you Jerry Hirschfield!

I'd like to share my letter to Jerry Hirschfield with you about his book:
I am a grateful member of Alcholics Anonymous and
I purchased your book , "My Ego : My Higher Power and I" in 1986 and proceeded to put it on my shelf -where it sat for years and years. I have to tell you that i tried to read it in 1986 but I opened to a section, read a little bit and was "put off" by what I read. ( must have been my ego didn't "like" what it read ) I have even tried to get rid of the book but "something" kept making me pick it back out of the pile going to the library book sale... This is an honest program so I have to come clean. :-) Anyway, two weeks ago, I took it from my shelf and decided to try it again...only took me 20+ years ...what was that about "in God's time, not ours " ??. I know now that I was directed at the best possible time to read your book and it has impacted my life so profoundly. I thought I had surrendered my ego a long time ago but I hadn't. With patience and persistence and a whole lot of love, I am becoming a more mindful spiritual being. There are other Godincidences happening in my life today and I am aware when they come up now and I am thankful for that knowledge.

I am so very grateful that you let the Higher Power direct you in writing "My EGO". Years ago, my ego raised it's hackles over your book- today it surrenders gently to the " I " in me. I can only say thank you, thank you for listening to your Higher Power and going the distance with the book.
IT HAS MADE A SPIRITUAL DIFFERENCE TO THIS JOYOUS SOUL. I'm not going to wait to read "Forever One" !!
