This book is the clearest, most easily understood description of the individual's spiritual journey that I have ever read. I have read alot! It helps one to understand what he or she is going through and why. Thank you Jerry Hirschfield!

I'd like to share my letter to Jerry Hirschfield with you about his book:
I am a grateful member of Alcholics Anonymous and
I purchased your book , "My Ego : My Higher Power and I" in 1986 and proceeded to put it on my shelf -where it sat for years and years. I have to tell you that i tried to read it in 1986 but I opened to a section, read a little bit and was "put off" by what I read. ( must have been my ego didn't "like" what it read ) I have even tried to get rid of the book but "something" kept making me pick it back out of the pile going to the library book sale... This is an honest program so I have to come clean. :-) Anyway, two weeks ago, I took it from my shelf and decided to try it again...only took me 20+ years ...what was that about "in God's time, not ours " ??. I know now that I was directed at the best possible time to read your book and it has impacted my life so profoundly. I thought I had surrendered my ego a long time ago but I hadn't. With patience and persistence and a whole lot of love, I am becoming a more mindful spiritual being. There are other Godincidences happening in my life today and I am aware when they come up now and I am thankful for that knowledge.

I am so very grateful that you let the Higher Power direct you in writing "My EGO". Years ago, my ego raised it's hackles over your book- today it surrenders gently to the " I " in me. I can only say thank you, thank you for listening to your Higher Power and going the distance with the book.
IT HAS MADE A SPIRITUAL DIFFERENCE TO THIS JOYOUS SOUL. I'm not going to wait to read "Forever One" !!

Am a recovering alcoholic and was given this book by my A. A. sponsor early in the process. The book offered me amazing insight into the ego and its transformation to a life of God Consciousness. Have recommended it to others and they have also found the book very valuable to the recovery process and the 12 Steps.
