Book Description

December 19, 2000
From the end of the war in Japan to the trade wars around the world, My Enemy, My Friend, tells the story of the love/hate relationship that has existed between Japan and the U.S. for the last fifty years.Starting with the last days of World War II, My Enemy, My Friend, brings to startling reality the brutality and finality of the vicious air war over Japan that led to the dropping of the atom bomb, and to the abject surrender of Imperial Japan. It shows the dramatic rise of Japan from the ashes of destruction, bringing to life the countrys agonizing climb from poverty to wealth. We witness the friendship and love that grows between two formerly bitter enemies. Romance blooms between their children as they are confronted with age-old prejudices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Once you pick it up, you can't put it down, July 2, 2001

I picked up this book and finished it in 24 hours! Who needs sleep when you have a story that pulls you in and makes you a part of the characters. The descriptives and the plot, kept the pages turning with ease! I learned about WWII while I was craftily reminded about love and family commitment.

FANTASTIC BOOK!!

While surfing online, I saw a brief write up in a Santa Barbara paper about this book and ordered. I am dumfounded as to why people aren't screaming raves for this book; it really is exceptional. A great yarn of WWII and beyond, with some very cleverly crafted plot twists. Jack Nadel ... you've done very very well!
