Ariana has a pretty bright future ahead of her in the entertainment business and I can't wait to see what other things this girl will try and do.

4 1/2 STARS FOR A SECOND ALBUM THAT DOESN'T NECESSARILY EVOLVE, BUT DOES ADD A BIT MORE DEPTH OF MUSICALITY (ON SOLO TRACKS)

Though I say this album doesn't evolve very much, that's ok for a second album following a strong first entry. I also wouldn't normally say moving one tick in the direction of pop, and one tick away from R&B, is a process that adds depth since pop is more fleeting by nature. However, Ariana maintains her strong R&B influence while simply getting a little more depth of musicality. Hopefully she will always keep that R&B sound since that's her vocal strength.

The song called PROBLEM was nice and was promoted heavily. However, this album goes further with WHY TRY that has an anthem quality that may not have existed on the first album. BREAK FREE is another light track that adds a little dance hall element that some may or may not appreciate depending on your expectations. I admit, not every song on the album blew me over and Ariana's voice is so strong she didn't need to repeat the duet format already on her previous album. She already checked that box, so to speak. Her handlers need to let that amazing voice soar! There was also a broader range of musical styles on this one (like the dance hall style tune), but I think it's good for them to experiment a little and explore Ariana's range and appeal. Others may feel she is trying to appeal to a broader audience.

Despite small nit picks I had on this album, I still give strong marks because it's so fantastic in the areas where it succeeds. The areas where it does not succeed are not her fault, I think. It is also a far better sophomore album than many stars will ever achieve. I am amazed at what seems an effortless step into a mature realm with a mature and completely distinctive sound right off the bat. Shock jocks are flashes in the pan. Ariana shows she has real substance.

Ariana Grande's My Everything is a well-put-together album. However, there's a bit of a jerkiness. You have a slow ballad like Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart and then the next track is Hands On Me; a fast, heavy beat track. However, each song has it's own stand in the album.

The Intro is slow and quick as it leads you to the #1 hit Problem. After Problem, you have One Last Time. A steady song where Ariana shows how sorry she is for hurting him and wants to be with him & take him home one last time. Why Try is a song about a toxic relationship. Your man yells at you, but you still love him and will stay whith him regardless. Break Free is your EDM where Ariana gets away from her relationship.

Now we slow it down with a ballad titled Best Mistake featuring Big Sean. This song is one of the prettiest on the album. Ariana sings about always loving her man despite their on-again-off-again relationship. Big Sean's rap is perfect as he thinks about going further in their relationship but questions how they can make it last. We speed it up with Be My Baby as Ariana asks her man to be more. It is sped up even further with an amazing track titled Break Your Heart Right Back featuring Childish Gambino. Here, Ariana sings how her man cheated on her with another man when she thought he loved her. While Childish Gambino raps how he does not like girls and how he is like "school lunch". Once again, we slow it down with a duet with The Weekend on Love Me Harder. Here Ariana sings about how she needs her man to show he loves her. The Weekend sings how he'll show his love to her.

Next, we slow it down even more to another ballad written by Harry Styles called Just A Little Bit of Your Heart. Ariana knows her man is cheating on her with another woman.

This girl is beautiful has an amazing voice and needs to let herself shine, on this album of the deluxe version which has 17 songs, she has 8 songs featuring someone rapping in the song, my question is why? She is talented enough to carry the album on her own with maybe 1 or 2 songs featuring a rapper. Please whoever is making the decisions in this girl's career, let her sing and the rest will fall into place,

Good album! She has a good voice but I can tell with how she presents herself on Tv and Interviews it is going a little bit to her head. Perhaps she doesn't mean to give off a diva-ish vibe though. In any case hopefully with a little more time and maturity she will grow out of it though. It would be a shame to let her personality overshadow her talent like that ... If you don't know what I mean try looking at a few interviews she has done. I watched one she did on Youtube in Australia and lets just say she seemed like her poo poo didn't stink. I don't like that. Ew!

Great album overall! She reminds me of a younger Mariah Carey. Although she is pop, which I normally don't listen to because pop nowadays is too fake, I bought this on a whim because I fell in love with how strong her voice was. Almost every song on this album is great. Love Me Harder and My Everything are my favorites. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because she unfortunately gets to sing and make music in this crappy generation

After her first release with its mixture of modern pop and old school it was clear Ariana could go in either direction for her sophomore release. I really enjoyed her Babyface produced ballads so I was hoping for more old school but this new release leans definitely more toward the high energy pop side. She started out as a confident R & B crooner while now she is controlled by the beat. So, with Yours Truly its time to chill while with My Everything it's time to party. There are many pop oriented producers this time around like Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Zedd with hip hop styling from Big Sean and Childish Gambino and Iggy Izalea and even sampling on Break Your Heart Right Back. These tracks are excellent with cool collaborators like the hits Problem with Iggy, and Bang Bang with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj and Love Me Harder with The Weeknd but the ballads this time around are weak enough to feel like transitions. So as a result, Ariana feels like an artist in transition.

The new faster paced Ariana is generating radio hits and is a good contrast to her previous blend of smooth R&B and hip hop. But while this style choice is working in spots, it also feels like her own unique style is getting lost in the shuffle. The beauty of Yours Truly was her ability to adopt an old school vibe while still sounding fresh and original. Now her sound is just like all the others. She also seems to be trying harder this time around. Even on the great track Problem she sounds like she is trying to keep up the fast pace while on Yours Truly she was much more in control and was subtly reeling you in with her smooth style. Yet there are elements that save this release from being too derivative.
