5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner
I really don't understand how any reviewer could say an author was trying to convince readers she was witty. Huh? Then again any body who would read all five of an authors books just to come to Amazon and say nasty things about them seems suspcious to this buyer. Ms. Britton's competition maybe?

Don't be fooled. This is another heartwarming tale by author Pamela...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a good romance, but my, what fun!
This romance could use some polishing in terms of plotting (runs out of steam after page 50) and character development (less action, more quiet moments would be nice), but my, the author manages to infuse this story with great cheeky, irreverent, and uplifting vigor! Hence, I can't really recommend this book, but you know what? I'll buy her next one. This author has character in her writing, which is not common in many debuts, and I believe she will be great one day.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing!, March 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
This book just didn't "deliver" for me. Too many subplots -- pirates, time travel, angels, the devil, etc., etc., etc., and the slapstick "humor" just didn't come across well. I don't think Ms. Britton was able to make up her mind what she wanted to write! Besides, the heroine is so dumb, she's totally unbelievable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but irritating, January 31, 2000
By
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
Normally, I like paranormal romances, especially with ghosts, pirates, lost heirs, and especially those set in the Regency period. However, I was irritated by the story line which kept referring to characters as if we should know all about them, but who hadn't even been introduced in the book yet. I kept feeling like there was a prequel to this book that I had missed, and that I was coming in in the middle of a story. Otherwise the writing was very good and humorous, although Lucy seemed like a bit of a twit from time to time, and I wanted to give her a good shake. However, the book was good for escapism and the hero and his struggle to save his soul was great.

2.0 out of 5 stars How many times do you have to say "opps!", December 2, 2005
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first book I've read by Pamela Britton, and I would have thought it her first published novel except for discovering its not. I'm not going to do a synopsis because others cover this as well as Amazon.

Regardless, I couldn't stand Lucy as a heroine. To me, she was irresponsible and very childish. Yes, a heroine is supposed to break some rules, but how many times does someone else need to get injured before she starts LISTENING? UGH! Our heroine Lucy meets our hero Garrick by falling out of a tree and landing on him. Did she learn anything about caution? No. Lucy is a walking disaster and it's a good thing Garrick is already an angel, or Lucy certainly would have been the death of him...oops, she is.

Which brings me to Garrick. I like him as a hero. At first, I didn't think I would, but he's a really good guy...totally undeserving of Lucy as a love interest.

After finishing the story, I didn't think I would ever read anything by Pamela Britton again, except a girlfriend of mine handed me book she really enjoyed: SEDUCED. I started reading the book and was enjoying it, only to find out Lucy was in the book (and hadn't changed one bit BTW!). So, it's just Lucy that I don't think I liked about MY FALLEN ANGEL.

The only redeeming quality of this book is that you get to read about the first introduction between Elizabeth Montclair and the events that transpire with Lucien St. Aubyn dubbed "The Duke of Death". For this, the book is worth reading. However, if Elizabeth and Luciens' story had not been introduced and set up for their own story (SEDUCED) I can honestly say, I would never have read another book by Pamela Britton.

I was all set to only give one star, because I really didn't like this book, however, I'm going to give a second star for Elizabeth and Lucein. But I still can't recommend reading all of MY FALLEN ANGEL.

Don't be fooled. This is another heartwarming tale by author Pamela Britton. Those who are familiar with her work (as I now am) will not be disappointed since it has her trademark humor and an ending that will make you cry. So far this book is my second favorite with Tempted number one.

Lucy Hartford is on a mission. She's determined to prove that a little boy she is caring for is a lot more than an orphan. Enter the hero. Garrick Wolf was sent to help Lucy with her cause. The only problem is Ms. Lucy instantly fancies herself in love with the hero. Oh and did I mention he's an angel? What follows is a story that had me laughing out loud so many times I had tears coming out of my eyes. The penalties were hilarious as was the parrot. Believe me, it's worth buying this book used. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots going on in this one!, April 29, 2000
By
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
Off the Barbary Coast in May, 1818, Lord Garrick Asquith-Wolf had just won a hand-to-hand combat with Tully St. Clair, one of the most feared pirates on the seas. Tully escaped. Garrick died only seconds later when he was struck by lightning. To keep his soul from going to Hell, Garrick's Heavenly Guidance Counselor gave him the task of guarding Miss Lucy Hartford. However, he had to remain chaste. The vow was a test. Even so little as a kiss would cut down his time to complete his assigned task.

Lucy was determined to prove that Tom was the Earl's long lost son. The Earl's new wife had wanted Tom killed so her own child could be heir. Garrick, Lucy, Tom, and Aunt Cornelia were off to find proof. Lucy's accident-prone tendencies kept causing havoc to the investigation. Her very presence was causing havoc to Garrick's senses! Now throw in a dull fiancé for Lucy, Tully returning, and the Devil deciding to complicate things for the Garrick!

*** This one is funny with all the accidents Lucy causes! Full of adventure, travel, and fights between good and evil. The ending is delightful! I strongly recommend this story! ***

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Love Story, March 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
The writting was wonderful. You could actually feel Garrick's pain. Lucy was a very convincing clutzie person. Really made me laugh with her antics. You're asking yourself if Garrick will beat the devil, save Lucy and will they end up together throughout the book. I hope to see more of Garrick and Lucy in future books. Also a story about Beth and Ravenwood would be neat.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a concept!, February 28, 2000
By
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Britton took a 'what if' fantasy and created a story that had this reader sighing 'if only.' From the beginning I was rooting for Lucy & Garrick, though I couldn't imagine how they were going to resolve their conflict. Then when Garrick sold his soul to the devil, I thought, oh no, now there's no way for a happy ending. But Ms. Britton found a unique AND believable way. I hope she plans to write Lucy's friends' books soon.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Much To Offer..., February 19, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: My Fallen Angel (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is okay for a first novel. It does have some humorous elements in it; however, there is a trend toward trashiness that puts one off. The plot could use less formula and more originality. The characters are likeable, easy to relate to. True romance lovers appreciate something closer to reality, though. Recommended only if you've already read everything else romance has to offer.
