Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Thanks to its quick-witted word play and wry insights into domestic life, the Shortcomings Audio weekly podcast has garnered a world-wide
audience with observations like:

...I slipped solidly into geekdom at the age of ten when I was fitted with a pair of black-rimmed glasses that had all of the aesthetic appeal and elegance of a spork at formal dinner party...

...When people say that the romance has gone out of their marriage, they generally mean they've had
children. Parenthood is a major toll booth on the
expressway of romance...

...Until I started sitting in the passenger seat while my son drove, I'd never noticed how many utterly crazy people there are on the roads...

Chosen (mostly) by other podcasters these fifteen essays represent some of the highlights from the first one hundred episodes of the Shortcomings Audio weekly podcast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greta humor in small doses., July 12, 2009
By P Shane McAfee (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews
Kevin Cummings is the master of a humor podcast called "Short Cummings Audio". Kevin's writing is VERY funny and family friendly. Take equal parts of Dave Barry and Mark Twain and throw them in a blender. You then have an idea of Kevin Cummings writing style.

"My Favorite Shortcomings" is a collection of Kevin's podcast essays. The essays included in the collection were chosen by other podcasters. This provides a double benefit for those unfamiliar with "Short Cummings Audio". New readers will not only be exposed to "Short Cummings Audio" but also to the other podcasts cited therein.

Yes, I am already a huge fan of Kevin's work. But, even if you have never read or heard Kevin's work previously, your should check out "My Favorite Shortcomings". If you like good, clean humor. You will LOVE this collection of essays.
