This review is from: My First Big Tape Measure (Toy)
this was a classic toy i think every kid boy or girl should have.
the noise factor was fun, the counting was fun, the measuring of everything was great. giving the child the ability to help out when doing adult things allowed a great bond.

We went through a few smaller 'adult' tape measures to satisfy my 3 year-old's interest in daddy's tape measures. But all it took was a few backward bends and these tape measures were broken and added to a landfill.Sure, it doesn't zip back into place like daddy's grown-up tape measures. But it's one he can really use, learn about inches and measurement - and now break in 5 minutes flat. Highly recommended for your rough little builder.

This review is from: My First Big Tape Measure (Toy)
I bought this for my almost-3-year-old granddaughter for Christmas, based on the reviews. I was disappointed. The rackety sound it makes serves little purpose, it only goes to 3 feet, and it is awkward to rewind, especially for a young child. The measure in the Big Tape Measure retains its annoying "curl" and would be difficult for child to manage alone. That it has both cm and inches is commendable, but there is little variation between the two and could easily be confusing. I would have been better off to give her one of the tapes I use for my fitness clients, which is easier to read, more flexible, and just the right size for a small child's hands.
