Republicans like it too!,

This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
I have been looking foreward to reading this book isnce I heard that it was coming out, and finally bought it last week. Even though I am a Republican and voted for President Bush, I loved this book. The authors have the exact same sense of humor that I have, and it transcends party lines. Some of the best lines from the book are: "Wow, I didn't know you could walk so many miles to school without shoes. Maybe we could move a shoe factory near your home and you could work there, and get paid in shoes to make shoes"(Dubya to his Mexican pen pal Hector). "In case of 'vice' presidential demise tell president that uncle Dick is now living on a farm with other ex-vice presidents and retired oil executives"(from memo entitled "What to do in case of a 'vice' presidential heart attack). What makes this book even funnier are President Bush's third-grader illustrations that decorate the pages, and the red-penned "corrections" that are made to many of Bush's writings. Look, if you're a Republican, it doesn't pay to be uptight. By this book like I did. You'll probably enjoy it. If you're a Democrat, you should shurely buy this book. It made me laugh out loud, and I'm a Bush fan. If it made me laugh, you guys will LOVE it. If you want more Bush humor, I suggest reading "W. A White House Journal" or watching Comedy Central's "That's My Bush!"

"G-dubbya" is shown in an extremely positive light in this one. His creativity and imagination are exposed. His mastery of the English language and grasp of reality are all set forth in clear detail. The pictures are well chosen examples of his artwork. I am a fan.

Modern Humorist will make the next 4 years so much more bareable. Especially with My First Presidentiary. I love the letters to Hector, (especially the one with Bush telling the stories of when he got 'busted' by Laura and that was a hard time in his life, just like Hector is having now. "I didn't know that someone could walk so many miles to school each day without shoes. Maybe we could move a shoe factory in there, and you could work there, and they could pay you in shoes for making shoes!") the letter to 'Mr. Castro', and The Exectutionator. Thank you Modern Humorist! (I wonder if Bush has read this book... and if he's watched SNL lately?"

I nearly wet myself!,
This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
This book is hilarious! It's so much more than just run-of-the-mill political humor. This is smart, biting and just plain funny. The cartoons add a whole new dimension to the humor and this Bush is so much more entertaining and likable than the guy in office. I particularly enjoy his fascination with baseball and comic books. Finally, a politician I can relate to.Modern Humorist for President!!

If you like The Onion, you'll LOVE Modern Humorist,
This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
Did you know that George W. Bush draws infantile versions of Marvel Comics characters like Mr. Fantastic and The Thing? That he scrawls moronic rebus puzzles to help him remember the names of his staff? That he's a mentally impaired stooge of big-money Republican Party puppet-masters? Okay, maybe you already knew that last one, but the first two and many other startling revelations are contained in this laugh-out-loud funny offering from Modern Humorist, the funniest humor machine in the world today. This book shows you everything that's going on in George W. Bush's mind, so not only is it funny, it's really short. If you like The Onion, Saturday Night Live, Conan, South Park, or Al Gore, you will love this book. Buy it TODAY -- or, if you're really busy, TOMORRROW!

A round of satire down the hatch...,

This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
I bought this for every member of my family, and we all voted Republican. This thing is ridiculously funny.
It's incredible satire. Even Republicans can laugh, that's how good it is. Liberals will of course find it right up their alley. Plenty of hysterical jokes at Bush Jr.'s expense. Parallel in brilliance to The Daily Show's "America: The Book", everyone should be able to laugh at politics and our national leaders, no matter what side they serve. The satire presents itself as Bush Jr.'s scrapbook, as if he were a giant man child with access to the "button". Very funny and ruthless. It's so good they need to make a sequel. I'd buy another round, just to show my appreciation. My only gripe is that, much like a glass of scotch, it's too short. Still worth owning though.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
This is a great book. I especially like the letters to Hector, Dubya's Penpal. My favorite part is when he complains and asks to get the "aquaman" cup at State Dinners. Halarious book!

With each new day George W. Bush inspires awe...at the silly things he says and the convoluted, often contradictory ways, his Administration conducts itself. This book is a must-have for Democrats, liberals, Libertarians, moderate Republicans...in fact even a Freeper might crack a smile.

This book is as funny as balls/hell/crap whatever you think is funny. I wish I could be president so that Modern Humorist could parody me. Even if you like Bush (like me) you will laugh at this book. It's thinly veiled that the author has deeply held convictions different than those of Bush, but the humor stays clean (your kids can read it) and the humor is so subtle, that you can't help but appreciate every page. PS, even "Vice" president Cheney is prominently featured.

Political satire in its finest,
By "wiseguy2005" (Englewood, Colorado United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My First Presidentiary : A Scrapbook by George W. Bush (Paperback)
My First Presidentiary is a godsend. The book, no "scrapbook", is an unbiast look at our 43rd president and just good fun. There are so many political things in this book that ultimately break down to one thing, you don't have to be political savvy to understand this. So I invite any political humorist or just any American citizen to read this book |
