Overlooked Gem!, February 18, 2011
This is a wonderful little disc that never got any respect. You have such powerful outside players as saxophonist Oliver Lake and trumpeter Hannibal Petersen in a program that puts the collective music making before their interest in displaying their pyrotechnic prowess. The tunes are engaging, and the solos intriguing. If you enjoy extended technique in the service of strong melodies, pick this one up!
