Melinda Doolittle outclassed and outsang everyone on American Idol last year. Heck, with the exception of Clay Aiken, she's outsung EVERY Idol contestant ever. This song was performed by her at the semi-finals and firmly established her as THE stylist/singer of the competition.

I can't wait for her CD...she's simply sensational! Great job as always Mindy!

Just an incredible singer! I have seen and heard many famous singers over the years, but there is truly something special about Melinda Doolittle! She pumps every bit of emotion and pathos that she can into every song that she sings and gives each a refreshing new sound. She knows her strengths and does not give into the "music machine" - the "cookie cutter" mentality of what supposedly sells in today's music industry. So many good singers are forced into recording what others think is commercial and what will sell. It takes a singer with the talent and self belief of a Melinda Doolittle to produce the quality material that she knows suits her and her voice well and is brave and determined enough to follow her OWN inner voice. She is a consummate performer who has been waiting a long time for her success and she is doing it her way! We are all the richer for that! She is one of the greats....

Melinda's version of MFV is simply the most amazing one ever; she now owns this song and no one should ever attempt to touch it again. Melinda made me first like this song when she performed it on AI(I didn't care for it before)now I absolutely LOVE it; I can't seem to stop listening to it.
This masterclass lady has given us a worldclass masterpiece. It's a must have.

This is without a doubt the finest rendition of this beautiful classic song that I have ever heard. It starts out in keeping with the traditional version...and then WOW...it transitions to an amazing funky beat and it just goes off the charts.....Not only does Melinda sing the lead, but she also does her own backup...how cool is that for this once backup artist....Meinda is soon to be a very very big recording STAR!!!!

You mean to say after a year, she finally decided to record ONE song! One song! Melinda, you are great and your voice has no equal, but what exactly will one song do for you? Or for us, who have waited all this time to hear from the best there is?

IMO, one of the best singers around today, made all the more enchanting by the sparkling, warm personality that we saw in Season 6 of American Idol. This song was a golden performance of Melinda's on Idol, and although the arrangement is not the same as on the show, Melinda delivers with all the vocal mastery you expect. I probably would have preferred the Idol arrangement myself, but I'm just so pleased to finally have something to purchase by Melinda. I'm a little puzzled why there hasn't been better (or any) promotion for this, a major record deal, or anything other than this single to date. I had to dig around to even know it existed, and Melinda deserves better than that! I would love a full album of material that showcases why Melinda was the true star of Idol's sixth season. I bought every Doolittle studio performance from Idol last year and am definitely ready for more!

I'll be honest, I was expecting the classic rendition from AI. That performance blew me away and made me an instant fan - just a perfect performance! This version started out a bit slow for me, however, I was not expecting what came after - WOW! If this is a sample, I want the whole thing.

I'm happy to say the uniqueness of her voice is preserved on this recording - raw energy, soul, funk and jazz. Often times, the CD and live performances sound nothing alike - not the case here. Well done, Melinda and thank you. Keep 'em coming!

This is the first version of this song that I have liked. It's absolutely fabulous and I can't stop listening to it. Can't wait for her album to come out.

Melinda can blow Furthermore has outsung every American idol to date. Will follow her career as she moves up the music ladder. I believe there is a following she will have for years to come. Could she see it in her future to think of recording "Stay with Me" I really wanted her to sing it on American idol. It is an amazing work.

Easily the best singer on Idol in the history of the show, and by far my favorite song of hers since she sang it on Idol :) This is a great take on the song, and I love it, but I would love to have a version of the song like she did on the show with just herself and the music: no backup singers, a similar production to the original song, etc.

Again, amazing, but please release a B-side with you singing it like you did on Idol :)
