STIRRING!,
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
I truly enjoyed this book, the story of one women and her walk through life's journey...until! I liked her openness about herself, her life style and her beliefs before her encounter with the hereafter and I enjoyed the wonderful transformation in her afterwards. I smiled at the faith of her Dad and the goodness of God to prepare her own husband for his soon crossing. God is so good! All in all I felt this book was very tender, showing the love God has for his children and His great, great mercy!

My Glimpse of Eternity,
By J Brath (Kewaskum,WI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
This mind-capturing autobiography is an inspirational recollection of the authors experiences which led her to come to know the dealings of the Holy Spirit and the nearness of God. I found the book's lessons and the author's experiences to be very applicable to anyone seeking to come to know God's love and how he gently helps and deals with people to overcome their personal shortcomings and learn from their previous mistakes. This intimate exposition of the author's encounter with illness can give us hope and comfort that we may need in our daily lives, especially in times of trauma. Her visit to heaven takes the fear out of death and may help us to gain a grasp of life's priorities. I enjoyed the book very much; it left me with new insights into my own character and a refreshing look at God's attributes too.

a nice story of her life,
By Mary Fletcher (Stow, Oh United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
I think Betty had alot of stress in her life, and I think God attends to those under that kind of stress in incredible ways. I would have thought her story was unbelievable if I had not had my own experiences with life and death and stress. I think it was nice of her to share her story with us, and I'm glad she has found a new life that is more settled (I HOPE!).It's certainly a miracle that she made it through that illness ! And it's wonderful that her first husband was able to ask and recieve many answers to his questions about "the other side" just before his own "death". Thank you Betty! God Bless~!

A warm and touching book,
By Zaldy A. Andales (Ikeda-shi, Osaka Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
This book is a touching life experience of a woman's struggle with illness, family relations,& hard realities in life, plus an account of her amazing revival from death with her Dad calling to Jesus during that time. All of us would easily identify with the author and what she thinks inside her. If you have a problem with your in-laws, or too focused on the world, or lack a personal fellowship with God - this is a good book for you.Betty's dad is also a great blessing. About the title though, it is quite misleading. I bought the book because i was interested in Near death experiences and heavenly visions, but i was quite disappointed Betty only saw a little. Maybe that's why its only a "glimpse." Anyway, her miraculous life story and touching message makes up for this.

UPLIFTING..FILLS THE READER WITH HOPE AND JOY!,
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
I first read this book in 1980. I will never forget how I felt as I read page after page of this woman's phoenominal experience. My father died in 1961 when I was only 11 years old and for the years that followed, my heart was filled with questions about the place he went to. As I read, I wept and laughed and felt that I was living her life.
The information of how to treat on who is close to transitioning from this world to the next is irreplacable. Because both my husband and I have been pastors and counsellors for many years, there have been times her testimony has been very helpful in walking with those who are in the process of grief or are dealing with life and death matters. This book is a hidden treasure. When the reader reads the story, they will be hesitant to give the book away, because, this is a book that can be read over and over again. Spritual truths and eternal principals can only be grasped as those who enquire are ready to understand and receive. Even though this was written years ago, the story is fresh and applicable to any who desire to know what is beyond for those who prepare themselves.

Walking in faith, hope and love,
By Jackie M. Sthilaire "Memere Jackie" (Manchester, NH United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)

The greatest gift of the Lord is love. Betty shares her faith journey with us and how to overcome our selfish desires and let God be God in and through us. The Lord is the best teacher that we can follow and He so wants to love us into being. "Do not be afraid, I am with you always". Jesus.

More than a "nice story",
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
It is amazing to me that people can refer to this as merely as a "nice story". The woman was declared legally dead for 28 minutes--no heartbeat, no breathing. All her vital organs were destroyed by gangrene. She describes one of the most awesome heavenly experiences which dramatically changed her life and those who have read the book. Her medical file puzzles the medical world. Excuse me, but this is no
mere "nice story." This is one heck of an experience and if your life isn't impacted by Betty's experience you better check to see if you have any blood pressure.

Great Book!,
By Jatarik "Jat" (NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My glimpse of eternity (Hardcover)
Like many other reviews here, I have read many books lately on NDE's. Some books have touched me so deeply in my spirit that I couldn't get over it and just had to share the book. As a christian, the real testimony for me has been the powerful presence and truth of the Holy Spirit as I read the book. I felt the truth of this book, but if you're looking for alot of information about Heaven or life after death, you won't find it here. Don't put off reading it though. It's powerful. Great for a person who is losing a loved one to sickness or has just lost a loved one.

My sister had a ruptured appendix at the age of 7, she was given a chance of surviving the night of 5 percent, this was in 1968, she also had gangrene, I know our Lord is with us every step of our life, my sister did survive, and after her illness she told our mother that she had two mothers, one on earth and one in heaven and her mother's name in heaven is Mary. My sister has had an incredibly blessed life since then.

Life after death,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: My Glimpse of Eternity-Spire (Paperback)
As a child growing up, Betty's family and our family were friends. Thus, we were aware of Betty's death experience and had heard stories that had been circulated around our church families. Also, as a young woman, my parents had a copy of this book lying around the house, and I had read it once before.
Because my husband is presently in a CPE class, one of his units is on death and dying. It seemed appropriate to find this book and use it as one of the resources on the afterlife. Understanding the subconscious of one who is dying and how friends and family should talk in the presence of that individual is highly important. The power of words, even in death, are extremely powerful. Betty captures the heart of one who has seen a glimpse of Heaven and the afterlife. Too often we live in a world that seems to forget that there is a life after death. This book is well written and gives hope to the believer of life in eternity. |
