I wanted to know more about the Chromebook, but couldn't find much information written about it. This book contains everything I wanted to know about what a Chromebook is, and clearly explains what it can and can't do. It points out the similarities and differences between Chrome and other operating systems, discusses using the Cloud, identifies why some things won't work and explains ways to get around the limitations. I found the book informative and very helpful.

I purchased an Acer Chromebook and found I needed some assistance. This book covers the basics and is great for a beginner in the Google Chrome OS. It isn't as detailed as I would have liked and had to call on my experience on Ubuntu Linux to fill in the omissions and use some trial and error to get the system to do what I wanted. It is the only manual I found at this time and if you want to get into Chrome OS, it will be a great help but not the perfect instruction manual like Teach Yourself Visually.

The Chromebook I bought was sold without a guide that gets you past very basic interaction with the device. This book answers most of my 'How do I do that?' questions as I explore the work in progress that the Chromebook is. While it will soon be obsolete as Google's work progresses, it serves the purpose to help get a lot out of today's (2012) Chromebook.

I was looking for a basic book on the Chromebook that I could give someone not very comfortable with computers. There were good tips from identifying the parts in the box to turning it on to getting online. I wrote in the book as I went along to customize it. I agreed with most of the advice. I like the screenshots, step by step instructions and warnings.

While the book is a bit thin, it is only $25. And I look forward to the more than $25 worth of time it saves me in tech support!

Fast, Simple to use and overall a very inexpensive laptop.

If your using your laptop to just surf the web and check your email then this little guy is perfect.
And don't forget all the free apps that Google has in the store.
Also you get a lot of free cloud storage from Google as well.

So simple my mother can use it!

It is not even available in Canada yet, so had some difficulty getting it to work but Bell Canada figured out a work-a-round. It works like a charm, fast and sure. I like that it is something in berween a laptop and a tablet, has the benefits of both; an attached keyboard but very light because of it's unique operating system, all apps available like a tablet. It doesn't run on Windows so to me that is a plus. Windows 8 is a monster to get used to. Also, love the look, slimlined and silver.

If you are looking into purchasing a Chromebook you will find it worth your while to read this ($15) book first. It is a well balanced review of the Chromebook's strengths and weaknesses and will either save you a few hundred dollars or convince you of the wisdom of the purchase. There is also a GREAT review under the "Samsung Chromebook" product by Lance Haun that will help you (as it has over 2,000 other folks). Good reading and NOT too technical.

This book is little more than an owners manual: a few pages of very basic information, all of which can be found on any number of webpages that can be read in about 10 mintues. Not worth the high quality paper it's printed on and billed for.
