5.0 out of 5 stars Tool kit for Fun
This was my 2 1/2 year old son's Father's Day gift to his grandfather. What a hit! Lots of goodies to explore together. Good value. The whoopie cushion was a huge success for everyone involved.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for older toddlers
This is a very cool toy, but beware if your toddler is too young. Our little one is 18-months, and he just destroyed this. It's like a pop-up book, kind of, and he just ripped stuff out of it.

I'm still glad I bought this, even though I am going to have to wait to give it.

I bought this book for my daughter (9months) knowing that she was too young for it, but thinking we could look at it together in a few months. I am going to have to put it up for a couple of years, then look at it with her. It's not a board book for little kids. Some of the pieces are very flimsy and small.

Its a very cool book and I'm excited for her to be able to use it, but will definately have to wait a while. I can imagine that it would last only a few minutes with what I think of as the traditional age (2-4) for a board book.A really great concept and I can see it being used with a 3-4 year old under very close supervision. A great "read on your lap" book.

The book is in a sturdy clear plastic box, each page has removable parts or flaps to open or an activity to do. I would recommend keeping the book in the box on a high shelf when not in use, if your child is small.

I bought all three in the series: My mommy's tote, My grannies purse, and My grandpa's briefcase. They are all very cute, cool books, but similar in durability. I thought that the author would have to repeat some of the ideas in each book, but was surprised at how different each were considering how similar the concept was.

I would buy again or give as a gift.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute book but not durable at all!, April 4, 2009
This review is from: My Grandpa's Briefcase (Board book)
Admittedly, I bought this book for my 13 month old to occupy on the airplane. She wasn't very interested in it but my 3-year old niece certainly was. Before we even got to her house, the velcro tab closure had come unglued and the bottom of the book (the binding) had separated from the cardboard.

The things inside grandpa's briefcase are very flimsy; both pairs of cardboard glasses had broken (the earpieces ripped off) after playing with them for less than 10 minutes.

It's a cute concept but everything in the book is very flimsy, as is the book binding and cover itself. If you can buy it for cheap and don't mind it being basically a one-time only book, then go ahead and buy it. Otherwise, save your pennies.

This is my standard boy baby gift. It is perfect for travel and restaurants. Keeps little ones busy for a long time. The girls version, "My Granny's Purse" is great too. My grandchildren like them equally.

Another great book from P. H. Hanson. My kids love it, so does their grandpa! I hope that P.H. Hanson continues to write such wonderful books.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice but.., September 16, 2007
This review is from: My Grandpa's Briefcase (Board book)
I loved this book but was disappointed that it looked pretty beat up when my friend took it out of the box. Unfortunately, I did not inspect it beforehand and gave it as a gift. I was surprised that it looked like there was some minor water damage and there were many worn areas. I don't mind that when I purchase things used, it's expected. However, I bought this new because it was meant to be a gift for a friend who just became a new grandfather. This is my first disappointment after many, many purchases. Had I noticed before I gave it out, I would have returned it for a different one.
