A Keepsake,
By A Customer
This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
We just received this gift for Christmas, and I loved it. I could tell right away that it wasn't a book that I wanted to just hand over to my exploratory 18 month old. Although she is very gentle, this book is designed for exploration and curiosity, and I could just see it having some pieces ripped away just out of a toddler's normal zest and enthusiasm. That being said, we have already enjoyed several hours playing with the book together. She loves to sit on my lap and "explore" the book with me. There are so many things to look at, and open and feel. She loves to "put on the rings" and open the passport. I'm enjoying many more times like this, and then when she is old enough to look at the book by herself it will be in good condition, and she will have learned that books are meant to be read and enjoyed and not ripped up. This way it stays nice, and we also have time together. After all, aren't all books meant to be enjoyed that way?

FAB FINDbut not recommended for TODDLERS,

This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
o.k. so I think I bought this litte gem of an interactive book more for myself than my 18 mnth old. It would have been something I would of adored as a little girl, with it's pockets of treasures and flaps to pull out with brightly colored pictures of granny and baby. The only problem is that it is NOT DURABLE enough for a toddler. I don't reccomend it for children under 3 yrs old or if your child is a little rough with things. This will not last. It is made out of cardboard and alot of the little flaps are folded so that they can EASILY tear. You'll spend more time gluing the flaps back together than enjoying this great little book. Save it for later or bring out your inner liitle girl!!

My 4 year old loves it,
By A Customer
This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
My 4 year old daughter got this for her birthday and she just loves this great book/purse. I am ordering one for my best friends little girl. This is one of the cutest ideas I have seen in awhile. There are lots of accessories and lots of cute things that the child, mom and grandmother can enjoy. My mom really enjoyed playing with this book with my daughter. I do agree with the other review we will have to be careful not to loose the pieces. I think this would make a great gift for any little girl

So Cool!,

This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
This is the neatest product I've seen in a long time and my two girls, ages 7 and 4, love it. There are so many fun extras inside the purse, I would have put this #1 on my wish list as a little girl. I haven't had any problems with durability or with losing pieces but my girls have always been careful with their surroundings and personal items. I would recommend this book for ages 3-8. My mom (granny!)was so excited when I told her about the book and she enjoyed buying it and giving it to my girls to share. By the way, I see no problem in giving this to little boys, there are some 'girly' items in the purse, such as lipstick (not real), but the point of it is that it is granny's purse and you get to borrow it whenever you like!

Cute idea but I hate the text!,
By
This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
Very cute idea and my daughter enjoys it but the text gives an image that I wouldn't want my daughter to have. It says:
-- "My mommmy says 'stop looking in the mirror.' My Granny says, 'Always look your best.'" --" 'Let's go!' Granny says . . . . 'Life is an adventure!' My mommy always says 'Sit still Please!'" --"'Stop worrying' says You know who. 'Be happy' says Granny. This book not only is derogetorry toward moms but it plots mom against grandma... which is not the image I want my daughter to have. I want her to have strong female influences in her life that compliment each other not oppose one another... I am not unaware of the stereotypical spoiling that goes on with grandchildren and Grandparents.. I just think it could have been done in a more playful manner... the dialogue sounds almost angry at "you know who". As a mother who is very close to my daughter's "Nana" and who enjoys a 3 generation girls day out a few times a months i like to think that we can all get along and work together toward my little girl's growth and self worth... This is just my 2 cents anyhow....

Adorable!,
By A Customer
This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
I first saw this "book" at a kindergarten workshop. It is adorable and all were taken by it. Telling the difference in parents and grandparents in a very true to life, but simple way, this book is a must for grandmothers and grand-daughters! ("Mommy always says "No candy" but Granny says "Sweets for the Sweet"!) It would be comparable to "The Jolly Postman" because of the items that are included in the "purse", and this makes the book. However, here lies the only drawback I see; some pieces could easily become lost. This is the perfect book for anyone who ever had a grandmother who let you play with her purse!

I really liked it,
This review is from: My Granny's Purse (Board book)
I bought this for my little nephew, and he really enjoys it. He even reads it to me!
Echoing the other reviews, while this book is sturdy and durable, it is not indestructable. I feel it is a "together" book meant to be looked at carefully. It brought back memories of when I was allowed to look through both of my granny's purses, as well as my mama's, and those of my aunties. Small wonder that now my purse is full of all kinds of eclectic goodies too!

I have purchased a total ten of these books. I give them to the Grandmother to share with the children. They are good for hours of grins and giggles! They are cute, and very durable too.

This book can definitely become a favorite to little girls. There are so many neat things to find in the "purse". My daughter is 3 and just loves it. I would certainly recommend it for ages 3 and up.

This is such an adorable board book! It's so sweet and girly. Little girls just love their Grandmas and this is such a great way for them to connect with them even more. Lots of reviews said this book is not very durable. Read the age reccomendation- it says 3! I wouldn't give this to a young toddler unless you look at it together and very gently. Otherwise, it's very suitable for a child 3 and up. I can't wait to give this as a gift to my friend's daughter and everyone else I know who'll appreciate it :)
