This is a cute book to get a young child interested in family history. I read it to my son, who is four, and he asked for it again the next night. It is a book about a boy who meets an ancestor from hundreds of years ago and realizes there are some similarities between his 5x great grandfather and himself. I would say it is age appropriate for a three to five year old. The description has an age range of three and up so I'm not sure why the prior reviewer was surprised it was at a preschool level.

This book is an improbable meetingbetween a little boy and his caveman forebear. It's fun to show children that they may not be totally different from grandparents, etc. and on back. It may lead to some interesting conversations between the generations about what lives and activities were like "back then". And you know, we elders like nothing better that to remember our youth.

Good book to spark the interest of a young one in family history. Always a request by the kids. Nice artwork and a good short story for children.

I bought this book to give to my grandchildren along with their family history. It was way too pre-school - I didn't like the way that it was presented.
