This book is a workbook style book that helps you by providing "daily journal" with foods, etc. that you can check off during the HCG injection (or other application) diet phase 2. I was hoping for more info about how to deal with the different phases, and it certainly wasn't there. I already had a journal for the phase two diet. If you don't, this is a good buy. If you do, but need more info, which was my situation, it is not a good buy. I don't know how motivational it was... it could have covered more days and issues. Not horrible, but I am reselling it or giving it away...The HCG diet is working well for me by the way, I am using injectable HCG and have done one phase 1, a phase two (the 500 cal. diet and HCG, and am into phase 3 and will go through a second round of the phase 1 - 3 to lose the rest of the weight. I had stubborn, hormonal issues with weight, tried lots of other types of diet, including Jenny Craig which worked well for me when I was younger, but did not work the last couple of short trys I gave because of the problems that HCG deals with so very well. I have lost and maintained a loss of 20 lbs during the HCG phase, have lost a couple more in the middle period (and my weight was rising steadily due to hormonal imbalance and medications I needed to take for MS) -- I would like to lose 15-20 more lbs during the next 40 day cycle of HCG, and that is very likely. At that point, I will be at optimal weight. And at a set point which will allow me to eat many f the things I like. Another pos. is that it focuses on pure, organic if possible small portions of food, which is a great thing for everyone.

I found this little book to be of great inspiration. At first it may seem silly and you can just copy pages out of Linda Prinsters book and not spend the extra money, but it would be a mistake. The diet is rigid and at times difficult to continue, this little book was like my support group. It has an inspirational saying for each day and allows you track what you did that day. Think of it as a diary. I lost 27 pounds and I am in the second stage of maintenance. The book even helps you through maintenance. Tracking is KEY. In fact, I am going to do a second round of the diet in January and I have ordered a second tracker to do it again! Highly recommended.

Despite the ease of the diet due to the limited choices, I found this tracker to be a must if you are using the HCG Diet. It makes it easy to track what you have eaten and what you have left, by checking the boxes. It also has the exact items you can have on the diet, so there isn't any room for error. Plenty of room for notes so you can compare your weight loss to what you ate. Daily quotes to help you along also makes it supportive and encouraging. I have a short term memory, so I mark every item as I eat it so I don't question if I can have more or have anything left to eat. There is also plenty of room to mark down if you have taken your drops six times a day or one injection for the day. A place for the date and your daily weight also makes it very motivating to watch the numbers fall. I use mine every day and find it to be a great tool.

The book was somewhat inadequate, but for 10 bucks it was helpful start (it would have been worth $20 with the kind of information below.)

Before you start the protocol, I would very strongly recommend a book, a new book, the first intelligent scientific book of its kind about the HCG protocol, that I could find. It is a great technical and psychological preparation. The author also simplifies the Protocol diet, and dispenses some invaluable counsel for the protocol's safe and successful do-it-yourself completion.

"Weight-Loss Apocalypse: Emotional Eating Rehab Through the hCG Protocol" by R.P. Woodall, who has guided hundreds people through the HCG protocol, and the book shows it.

My wife, who is partially vegetarian, is doing the protocol. She only eats true fish (not shellfish) and chicken, for meat, so I only calculated 100 gram counts for chicken and the fish which she eats.

Here is something I put together with the help of this Tracker. These calorie counts may MAY BE HELPFUL TO SOME READERS TO COPY/PASTE into their records:

This handy book is for people doing the HCG Diet, no matter what method of delivery they are using--injections, sublingual, or homeopathic. It is basically a checklist for each day where you can check off the foods you have, making it very simple to figure out what you should eat. In addition, you can look back and see patterns. For example, if you don't lose if you eat beef, you'll know. Some people do fine with beef (I do) but others don't. This tracker is invaluable.

This book start with Phase 1 Day 1 and continues through 42 days of maintenance (Phase 3). It has inspirational quotes from famous people on each page of the VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet, Phase 2) as well.

Now, this is NOT an introductory book to the HCG Diet. Other books are much better at this, and there are a wealth of those out these. My favorite is "HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide" by Linda Prinster. But you must read other information to find out how to do the diet. This is ONLY a tracker. Consider the money well spent as part of the cost of doing the diet.

Highly recommended.
