This treasure of a little book has been my family's go-to Haggadah for years, as a way to engage the kids actively and creatively in an age-old tradition that can sometimes be a "something to get through". With wit, intelligence and a cool modern design, the book hones in on the essence of the lessons and rituals of the Seder, so it resonates equally for the adults around our table as for the kids (and there are some great social action messages embedded as well - bonus!). I have personally led our family seder for the last five years and we've used it throughout its various incarnations every year, sometimes as a stand-alone and sometimes in conjunction with the more traditional book we have (particularly when a particular Uncle comes...). At different ages, my kids have used the book differently, and sometimes they attack the art projects in the book -- stickers and drawing -- while the grown-ups are gathering before the Seder, and sometimes it keeps them happy and actively engaged while the Seder is going on. We are fans.

This Haggadah is a wonderful tool for children to learn about Passover but also to make it relate-able. This book takes children into consideration and guides them and their creativity on the Exodus journey. And the stickers are great incentive to memorize Mah Nishtana!

My daughter has gotten this three years in a row -- when she was 5, 6 and 7. I would recommend it for younger children (5-7) since now that she is older, she really wants to follow along in the more traditional haggadah and while this has lots of great stuff, it is not complete. However, it's very fun and engaging and a great way to get prepared for the holiday.

Be careful with the spiral binding. This year, my daughter got a cut on her hand from it. It's the first time it happened, but something to be mindful of.
