Up until now I had never heard of Giorgia Fumanti. Last week I was at a major retail book store looking for a good reason to use my gift card. I came across FROM MY HEART by Giorgia Fumanti when I was perusing the classical section. After I heard samples of the cd, I was immediately hooked. I didn't leave the store with that cd that day but within a couple of days later I was able to find a cheap but unused copy of FROM MY HEART on the internet. I got my copy of the cd yesterday in the mail and have been listening to it non-stop.

For Sarah Brighman, Sasha Lazard, Charlotte Church fans, Italian opera singer Giorgia Fumanti is right up your alley. FROM MY HEART is a collection of beautiful classical/pop songs that is sure to tug at your heart strings. Giorgia's vocals reminds me a bit of Sasha Lazard. I can completely understand every word she sings. One of my personal favorite songs is Italian translation of Sting's "Fields of Gold". I liked hearing the lyrics being sung in another language. Another favorite is "A Rose Among Thorns" which is a variation on the ever so popular "Nella Fantasia". I liked hearing the song with different lyrics. That was a nice touch. After hearing the song on so many classical/pop cds, the different lyrics were quite refreshing to me. Every song on the cd is wonderful in their own right. FROM MY HEART is a must have for classical/crossover fans.

Stunning, stunning, stunning! I've listened to this CD for about 6 months and it just gets better. This is classical crossover at its best, period! Giorgia has a voice and style that is easily the equal of Sara Brightman, Meav, Haley Westenra, Sissel or Lisa Kelley, the other "greats" of crossover vocals.

This CD is also spectacular because of the choice of music, the masterful production and recording processes. Every song is absolutely stunning and most are songs not commonly recorded.

There is a lot of "junk" music out there to wade through. But, if you love beautiful, non-dissonant music, this CD is as good as it gets.

All that is needed is more of her recordings!

I just purchased this cd tonight, and I already love it. I heard of her through somebody who posts at the Sarah Brightman fan website. The first song I heard of her's was "Your Love" and I just wanted to hear more after that. She has a really unique sounding voice, and is a breath of fresh air really. Her pitch is also really precise which is what I notice most. I kind of wish she would've done an aria on the cd because I think it would've turned out really nice. But maybe on her next album! =)

Whilst I admire and appreciate any and all of the operatic "greats" it always seemed to me that the required vocal technique for singing opera made for quite a lot of "sameness" in the way voices and songs sounded. The person on the male side who changed that perception for me was Andrea Bocelli. As far as female performers went, well, I did have, and still have, a particular fondness for Sarah Brightman, and more recently "Sasha and Shawna." It was because of my fondness for Sasha and Shawna that I acquired the "Heavenly Voices" DVD Heavenly Voices, but, as I proceeded through that PBS Concert Special, it was Giorgia Fumanti that stole the show and stole my heart.
Yes, Giorgia Fumanti has "the" heavenly voice (for me) - with a range and quality and rendition I've never experienced before, but more than that, I've never heard any singer who has struck me as singing more "From My Heart" than Giorgia. Every word, every phrase, sung with loving attentiveness to the "detail" that it must elevate and delight the listener.
I've listened to "From My Heart" almost every day since I got it, and, far from getting "old" or "familiar," every time I listen I listen is a sort of disbelief that anybody - anybody - can sing like that.

A beautiful voice, wonderful choice of songs and absolutely charming phrasing, there really isn't anything to not like in this extraordinary CD.

I saw and heard Giorgia Fumanti on the Hevenly Voices special on PBS and frankly I was not all that impressed. But this CD is an entirely different deal - great. Enjoy it.

Gloria Fumanti's soprano voice is just stunning, carrying those high notes effortlessly. Her style of singing transends the music and captures your attention. The recording is clear and presents you with a life-like presentation like "you are there" in front of her. She really sings from her heart.

This collection of songs with its inspiring lyrics and moving music makes one weep with joy or beautiful melancholy.
Great road-trip music when you are alone on a long stretch of highway, thinking about the meaning of life.

I love her voice and musical choices. I bought this mainly for the hauntingly beautiful "Your Love" from "Once Upon a Time in the West" but really like all of the tracks. I have several of her CD's and have enjoyed them as well.

One thing that is true about all classical artists is that they can sing....really sing, and in the field of classical artists one voice stands out above all the rest and that voice belongs to Giorgia Fumanti!
Giorgia has a voice that just sends shivers down my spine! I've only had 'From My Heart' for a couple of weeks and I'm afraid I may have worn the CD out! When an Artist as talented as Giorgia opens her Heart to you, you grasp it and thank life for the gift. Thank you Giorgia!!!
